I needed 14 speakers for two 7.1 surround setups in a new home I was building. I thought I was going to have to spend $100 or more per speaker, but I saw these speakers & decided to give them a try based on the reviews. All 14 speakers shipped cost about [$]. Well what a surprise! For a home theater system when utilizing a subwoofer, I don't think you can get a better deal. I have two 7.1 systems: family rm uses a Velodyne 10" sub, Panasonic 58" plasma, Onkyo 605 receiver, DVD player; master bdrm uses a Cambridge Soundworks 8" sub, Vizio 50" plasma, Onkyo 605 receiver, DVD. DVD's with these set ups sound amazing. I'm not much of a music listener, but what music I play sounds fine to me. I'm more a home theater/tv listener. I think the key is to team these speakers with some sort of sub. Without a sub they might be lacking in the bass (but what in-wall speaker wouldn't be?) Power handling has been no problem. I can about blow off the roof if I want to. I'm thrilled that I saved over $1000 off of what I thought I would have had to originally spend.

I set up a 7.1 system in my basement. Wife told me the speakers had to be in wall. These are the best bang for the buck if you don't want to spend over 1K on a sound system. Make sure you pack the wall cavity with plenty of insulation. And don't put in a backer box, people do that not realizing they will more than likely hurt the sound.

These speakers sound great standing alone. I can't wait to hear their increased bass response once in the wall. Quality construction and good installation instructions plus cutout template. For the money, these are very impressive.
