System comes with (1) wireless receiver. Purchased second wireless receiver to get 7.1 sound. Wireless receivers actually have wires to the rear speakers but don't have to be wired across room. Took a lot of owners manual reading to synchronize the 2nd transmitter. Had to read the manual to balance the sound but it sounds great now. My wife disagrees but I think for the price it should get louder, sometimes I run it wide open and it is similar to theater sound. It has only one digital optic cable in so I have to pull the out wire off my digital cable and plug it into the out on xbox 360 to get surround sound on both. Basically it needs more digital input capability. It has one so you have to keep moving the cable as you change input.
