Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Easy to set up. It requires very little ambient light to produce a useful image up to about 100 feet. Though not as sharp as a daytime image it isn't as bad as I have read in other reviews. The field is satisfactory but there is some distortion in the perimeter of the field. This is normal for this technology. The IR works fairly well but don't try using it through a closed window due to reflection. Overall it's about what I expected.
