Worked well with one laptop, but not with another, both drawing less power than the max ratings. Kensington technical support confirmed that there is a compatibility issue with some laptops (nothing is listed in their Web pages about this product) and recommended I buy a different model (without USB)...

Worked well with a Dell laptop, but not with Toshiba laptop (fine for both on AC wall power, couldn't drive the Toshiba from DC air/car power). Kensington technical support confirmed the compatibility issue.
