A pleasure for a Mac pro to find the product comes Mac formatted - I plugged 2 of them in and they just. When they are not busy for a while they spin down, but you hardly hear them when they are running.

It's a wonderful hard drive that is safe to use for film/video editing. We even use them at our post production house. However, it is expensive, therefore, it is difficult for a person to want to purchase this item because there are other hard drives, like Lacie, that can get the job done just fine.
