Comments about Alesis Alesis DM5 Stand Alone Drum Module (Alesis DM5):

The general setup was very easy, but one of the drawbacks is the need to adjust certain parameters (such as individual trigger volume and sensitivity) and the interface makes this a little difficult, but the manual will walk you through it very easily.

For anyone who needs a simple straightforward setup, the alesis is ideal...
it's inexpensive, and ultimately, the 20 individual drum sets is not a limitation, as most people should not need to switch between that many kits in a live or jam situation...

The resale value is also very good, so if you ever do feel the need to upgrade, it won't kill your budget.
