The 1210 M5G is subtitled the "grand master" and takes over the top of the line position for Technics' line of turntables. The major improvement here, and the feature which is exclusive to the 1210M5G, is the pitch control. It is now completely digital, which means you should never have the problem of mismatched pitch ranges, and it also gives you the ability to choose between two separate pitch ranges: the standard +/-8 range and the larger +/-16 range. The color scheme, style and finish are also exclusive to the M5G and includes a blue stylus pop-up light, blue lights for both pitch ranges, a unique metallic black finish, and brushed steel hardware for everything down to the 45 adaptor.Other than that, the M5G includes the same improvements that the MK5 made over the M3D: include 1) the tonearm construction has been improved, which should lead to better skip resistance 2) the brake adjustment is now more accessible. Simply remove the record and slipmat and it's possible to adjust the platter's breaking time with a screwdriver.K E Y F E A T U R E S

As always Technics produces a rock solid, bullet proof and great sounding product. You could stop a bullet with this thing and still be able to play your records. This thing will probably last you until the end of time if treated right.

The new blue LEDs add a nice flair to the layout and the +16% pitch change is a nice bonus.

Great piece of equipment and I'll never buy any other brand.

This is a true audiophile grade turntable, I wouldn't be happy with it otherwise. I've owned 2 belt drive 'tables and up until purchasing this unit, I would have spouted off the predictable audiophile gibberish about the inherent inferiority of direct drive units.

Technics is definitely the BEST when talking about Turntables, however the design itself is still the same for the past 30 years. A lot of functions could be added to it. Like Master Tempo, Reverse, BPM Counter, Digital Output, etc.
