These radios are equal to any of the other mass marketed GMRS/FRS Hybrids. Expect a real world range of maybe a mile (for any brand/model, not just these) when using the higher power licensed frequencies, 1/4 to 1/2 mile when using the license free FRS only channels.
I have 20 of this general type of radio (various brands and models), and these are as good or better than any of the others I have. They all serve their purpose in my usage application.
I have a GMRS license and use a high power base radio with an external base antenna for the base, and use these as the portables. In this use environment, they work very well and provide several miles of range.
