My wife wanted a cheap video camera to capture video of my kids. For the money (i.e., very little), the DXG 595 is a great option. At 1080P, the video looks ok in good light. As you go inside, you get a reasonable amount of blur, but...hey...what do you expect for less than [$]. Stability control is poor, but the video looks ok anyways. Overall, I'm thrilled with this for kid videos. On the major plus side, I can just plug the SD card into my Mac and drag the video files off.
