[...] The XLink is small and does what it's intended for. My cell phone links up as soon as it's within range. Calls come through home phone with no problems.

Comments about IntelliTouch Intellitouch Itc-bt Xlink[tm] Cellular Bluetooth[r] Gateway Cable (intellitouch Itcbt):

[...]I installed it without problems: instructions are clear and easy. I experienced quite a few problems with bluetooth connection between the Xlink unit and my two cell phones (LG Fusic): there were often disconnections (lost pairing) between them, which resulted in somewhat confusing situations such as which phone, the home extension or the cell, to pick up to continue the conversation. Especially annoying was the fact that once you puck up the cell phone to continue to speak, it can pair again with the Xlink, and then you have to switch to the home extension phone again. Also the quality of sound was not great. I connected this Xlink unit to my computer and upgraded the software. After that the sound quality seemed to improve. However, the company (Intellitouch) did not warn that in order to be able to update the software I would need to install Microsoft .Net framework on my PC. So I guess, Mac users would not be able to do that.I suspect (but not sure) that frequent losses of bluetooth pairing result from settings of my cell phone that have three options: invisible, visible for 3 minutes and always visible. The most stable pairing is in the "always visible" mode. After two weeks of using the Xlink gateway and learning how to make it dependable, I believe, it can be a reliable solution (after some playing with settings, tweaking and updating) for cell phone users who do not want to have landline at their homes.

Instead of the advertised use of eliminating my land line, I'm using the XLink to receive cell phone calls on line 2 of my home phones. We have both our cell phones linked to the XLink. When we come home, we just leave our cell phones on, and they automatically link up to the XLink. Now if someone calls us on our land line, it rings on Line 1 of our home phones. If a call comes in to either of our cell phones, it rings on Line 2. Piece of cake, and just what I was looking for.
