I like the concept of this product, as it uses a keypad to punch in a pin # to unlock the drive and access the data. However, this level of protection is not as secure as some other more costly drives on the market that offer hardware based, on-the-fly encryption of the data on the drive...so that the data is not readable, PERIOD! (without proper authentication).
But, for the price of this corsair 4gb padlock, you do get a great product with some level of protection that exceeds a flashdrive without any protection at all. I would assume that the average joe, including myself, is unable to bypass or compromise the keypad of this drive to access the data. Overall, I would recommend this product as it is priced well, seems to work well as intended, and offers a fair level of protection for data in the event that the drive is lost or gets in the hands of someone else.
