Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I like the product because I find it the right size for easy use - I can find the control keys easily even in the dark in bed, as I play relaxation tapes before going to sleep. It has a very good sound. I compared it to a small recorder my husband has, and the sound on his is not realistic like this one though his is lighter in weight, but the sound was "tinny." I am a musician so I know things like this very well and have expectations for good sound. If you are very debilitated, it's probably too large for you and a smaller one would be better. If you want something for very easy use on trips, it's probably not the best choice but is by no means too large to take - I do.
