I purchased this microphone as an add-on for my new Tascam DR-1 Portable Digital Recorder. It has proved to be a good match for the close micing situations I encounter in my flute teaching studio. The built-in microphones in the DR-1 work better for location recording. Since I do a lot of both of these things, the combination works well for me. It's a good microphone for the price.
