I installed this in a Saturn Astra that didn't have an auxiliary input jack on the radio to let me use my mp3 player. I had tried the broadcasting FM modulators but the results were never very good. It took a little car specific research to determine the best way to install it in the Astra, but in the end there were no major problems and it works great.

Better solution than cigar lighter units

This unit was the answer to my problem. I had used a number of cigar lighter fm modulators in the 2002 Excursion and the radio would not lock on to them, so there was always interferance. Because this unit has a band pass filter that you can turn on with a switch, it in essence turns off the external antenna thus allowing great sound to be transmitted to the radio. It works great for what I need. I only gave four stars because I think it should have an adjustable output so you can match the volume level to the other channels. The signal going into the radio could have been a touch higher.
