No, I would not recommend this to a friend
These will certainly leave a bit to be desired but they're cheap and they offer what you will pay for them. They sound horrible until you have either a wall behind them or some insulation on top of them, as in my case. Then they do sound remarkably better but still not great. I am filling out the sound with an in-wall sub.
