from Hartville, Ohio on 09/22/2005 I recently purchased a Bounty Hunter Time Ranger metal detector. This machine is awesome.
I haven't spent a lot of time, using the machine, but the time spent was enjoyable. It will take you time to get the hang of all the features this machine has. My best advice to you is to practice,practice, practice.
This is my first metal detector. My personal opinion is that, if you are new to the game, purchase a smaller unit to start, unless you are like me and not easily discouraged.
I am not sorry I purchased this particular model but some people may be overwhelmed. It has so many features that will take time to learn. The dash board is great. It tells you almost everything that is happening.
The earphones are a must and these are very good.
The bag is someplace to store the unit but lacks a little in protecting the unit. The internal storage compartments would be better if they were single units where items could be seperately stored.
My overall opinion on the three items is " AWESOME".

After several hours of research, comparison, and pricing, I opted for the Time Ranger and have already found my lost pocketknife, some coins, & an earring in my own yard.
