Speaker companies try to convince you 2, or more, 8 or 10" woofers in a cabinet will do the job. And I guess everybody's concerned with 5.1 & 7.1 these days. But if you're old school stereo & want to get it loud enough to shake the walls & tingle your spine you're just not gonna get there without SIZE & POWER. These aren't your audiophile $9000 rosewood cabinets made by some "techno artiste," but I've heard those & there's no way those museum pieces are ever gonna make you choke back a tear, or give you claustrophobia like these will, until you start making the payments anyway. Cerwin Vega's are well known for that & their efficiency. To find these at [$] each was a steal. They didn't disappoint. I've driven them to 500w RMS & they're pretty clean. The building is shaking so hard at that point you can't discern any distortion anyway. They do rock, & they do it clearly. That's all I need.
