Had It hooked into my PC as a semi-home cinema system combined with my stereo, Works great! until after about half an hour its stops working unplug it, leave it and it starts working again then stops again, have tried it passive via the stereo and does the exact same thing! Would reccomend if your handy with speakers and amps and live next door to the Cerwin Vega Factory/or service centre! as for mine... the cerwin vega amp has been removed and a is now powered via a new amp (from a different company) and works great!

I bought this item in February of '07 for my home theatre system. Swank. Basstacular. Come July, the thing starts making this funny noise when it's in "Standby" mode. Sort of a white-noise growl-y rumble. Think of far-off thunder and you'll be close. Awesome when your Harley Hog makes that noise, not so great when your subwoofer starts making it at 3:00 in the morning when it's not even supposed to be switched on. Okay, so I checked around, found a service center in Atlanta (BTW - I live in Middle GA) that can do warranty work. Took it to them, they kept it a month, didn't bother calling me back. Finally called them, they said it was fixed, I went and got it. THEY'D NEVER EVEN OPENED THE CASE. So - obviously - not fixed. I called and complained, got so ticked off I finally just left it unplugged and said "...to heck with it." Decided in November that I wanted to get it fixed, so I took it to a shop in Columbus, who kept it for TWO MONTHS before calling me to say that they couldn't fix it, I should just come get it and ship it back to Cerwin-Vega in Florida. Okay, so I did that. C-V kept the thing three weeks, then sent me a replacement unit. Got this replacement in late January of this 2008. Thing has worked fine ever since. No problems. No complaints. It's now July of '08, and guess what? The new sub is doing EXACTLY what the old one did. And, before anyone says anything, yes, I have tried it with different systems. It makes the noise regardless of which receiver it's plugged into, and it even makes it when it's not plugged into anything. So - I'm telling everyone I know. If you're speaker shopping, stay away from Cerwin-Vega. Their products are defective and their service centers are completely incompetent.

I am very pleased with this subwoofer. I purchased it from [...] for $[...] out the door. This is my first subwoofer. It is totally capable of rattling your windows and vibrating things off of your shelves. I only have it turned up about half way. I have it connected to to an Onkyo receiver through the LFE connection plus 4 bose 201's and a CV center channel speaker. I had to contact CV before I bought it to see what type of connections it had. They sent me a pdf file of the owners manual which was very helpful in my purchasing decision.

[...] I am very pleased with the new subwoofer, the Cerwin Vega VE-28s has deep rich bass and can " really " rattel the windows, I addec this sub to a moderately priced 3 year old DENON system , and would recomend this upgrade to any smaller system, the speaker is compact but the dual 8 in drivers deliver more moving mass than a 12 in woofer and tighter response, I had a couple of questions [...] Cerwin Vega were more than helpfull,,,,,GREAT EXPERIENCE [...]
