Edgeport USB-to-Serial Converters offer plug-and-play COM port expansion for missioncritical applications requiring reliable, high-performance I/O connectivity. The Edgeport is an external, user-installable solution, so implementation does not require removing the PC?s chassis, reconfiguring or powering down the system. Various models are available for flexible I/O expansion: One-, Two-, four-, eight-, and sixteen-ports; multi-interface; and EIA-232, - 422, and -485 serial interface specifications. Full hardware and software flow control, automatic port reacquisition, speeds up to 230Kbps per port, tri-state LED port status, and broad OS support (including Windows NT 4.0, NT Embedded, CE, XP and XP Embedded and more) are some of the features that make the Edgeport a perfect solution for enterprise applications.
