No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I use it for business, unfortunately the reception is poor. Does not automatically sync up with my blackberry. On top of it I drive a Mini and the cupholder is placed very close to the floor and thus you have to speak very loudly to be heard. The speaker is not very strong, especially bad for a loud car like the Mini. Perhaps I am spoiled as the factory installed Bluetooth in my BMW is the complete opposite - clear reception / volume and no need to yell at the microphone.
