Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
It's a little hard to get used to the in-the-canal feeling, but it's totally worth it! I can walk down the street and even when a bus passes me, I don't have to turn up the volume on my iPod. They really do block noise, so you might want to warn officemates, roommates, and spouses that you won't hear them.
