I bought this HDD to work with the USB input on my JVC KW-NX7000 car navigation head unit. The HDD was pre-formated in NTFS which was not compatible with the JVC head unit. I downloaded the FAT32 formater on the Iomega website because WinXP doesn't support formating in FAT32. After formating to FAT32 it worked great with the JVC HU. The total capacity after format was 298GB. I performed my own transfer speed tests. I transfered a 1.53GB video file from my computer to the HDD in 50 seconds and back in 50 seconds. The polished brushed metal casing looks great and is very durable. I highly recommend this HDD for car installations among other uses.
