This is one of those devices that is infuriatingly excellant. Once it is setup, it does everything and is easy to use. Select an activity like watching TV, putting on the news, watching a movie, and it does the rest. Setups up the system, turning on what is needed and turning off what isn't then switching the receiver and tv inputs etc. Then the keys are mapped by the activity and it is easy to have keys map to several replaced remotes. The activity paradigm works incredibly well. The "help" feature makes it easy to get things back in sync in case a device misses it's powerup/powerdown command. It'll reset the inputs on receiver and TV and then ask a few question like "working now?" "is the digital set top box on" "is it on now?", etc.Setting it up is where the infuriating part comes. There was a item on remote selection for the software on my PVR and that ignored the importance of selecting the actual remote control IR hardware used. Learning mode works very poorly. Customer support doesn't respond in a timely manner and then they just say to call them. Communications lock up easily especially when messing around with learn mode. Solution is to exit the software, unplug the remote, and then get a install download from logitech's site. [...] As long as I don't use learn mode, I haven't seen any more lockups. Software can only be used with a live internet connection.
