FM Radio not good
By milpai from SoCal on 09/21/2008
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Pros:
Lightweight, Compact, Good Sound
Best Uses:
Home Use
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I purchased this from [...] and compared it to the Emerson PD6810. In the store FM reception of Emerson was very good. On the Memorex the FM reception was simply bad. I thought it was a open box and some one must have messed with it. I really liked the looks of the Memorex. So I decided to give the Memorex a try. I got it home and found that it sounded good on CD and Aux Line-in (iPod through a cable). But it was having a very hard time capturing FM reception. This was the primary reason I wanted a boombox. The max no. of stations it caught was 1 !! I live in SoCal. I returned this player and went with the Emerson, which sounds equally good with CD and Aux Line-in. But the Emerson is very clear on FM and captures a number of station. I suggest that you try the Memorex in your area and if the FM reception is good, it is a keeper. Unfortunately for me, it did not work, though I really wished it would - just based on it's superb looks and the cool blue light :-(

It was only used for one day and the cd player quit. The unit is not loud at all and I would not tell anyone to buy one.
