I was experiencing ground loop feedback and I tried one of these and it worked fantastic. I bought another one and used it on my backup system and it too worked fantastic. All the hum and feedback was completely eliminated.

Metra is one of the main companies for car installation parts. This Ground Loop Isolator is being used in a factory Bose amplified system when going to an aftermarket radio to retain the factory amplifier.

Great product, does exactly what it's supposed to. Have a satellite radio connected to the AUX in on my car stereo. It had made a horrible whining sound when the engine was on and it got worse as I stepped on the gas. This completely got rid of that problem and the sound is perfect now.

I used one of these to link the audio output from my cable TV box to a treadmill (has an iPod input jack & speakers). Can now watch TV while running with great sound & easy control. The ground loop isolator fixed an AC hum problem, and also eliminated a diagonal "rain" effect on the TV that was caused by the treadmill motor. Audio level dropped a little, but that should be expected (its totally passive - which is great, no batteries!). Excellent little device at a great price, professional ground isolation equipment is the only other answer but would be many times more expensive.

I bought this to elimate hum when recording from a satellite receiver to my PC using Audacity. It eliminated the hum completely but also greatly degraded the sound quality. Bass and dynamics were suppressed. I will not use it and it would cost more to return since it was so inexpensive. I think that's why it ruins the sound quality because cheap components were used.
