The Vista drivers worked fine - setup was more straightforward than I expected. Scan quality is excellent and speed of scans is adequate. I suppose a $1,000+ scanner would perform better but really, at the price point of this scanner, it's a great value.

I bought this for my wife, an avid scrapbook maker, so she could keep a digital record of her 12x12 pages (the standard in that field). The A3 limit means very little loss from the edge, and the reproduction is very good. Getting it connected was not so -- the instructions and the included disc definitely favored PC users and offered almost no help to Mac customers. Bottom line: If you want to scan 12x12, you can't beat this for the price.

Wanted a large format scanner to archive newspaper articles written by my daughter. This was the only large format scanner I could find anywhere in its price range. The scanner is ok, but the software and drivers are at best a "C". Too many crashes. I did accomplish my goals but scan within Adobe Acrobat Professional, not the included software (other than the Twain driver.) Even then, I have to use "searchable image" rather than "formatted text & graphics" or it crashes. But, once I got a stable workable path, I did accomplish my goals. The scan quality is good, not great, but compared to the price of all other large format scanners I've seen, I am satisfied.
