Digital CATV boxes have an Optical Audio Out port. The system only has a Digital Coaxe Input port. So to connect you need to purchase a TOSLINK cable, a Coaxe to Optical converter, and a Digital Coaxe cable.

My living room is small and the layout does not allow me use rear speakers in a surround sound setup. This system solved those problems. Sound is terrific and it came with an HDMI cable. Tons of features including a usb port & ipod dock.

The product is a good deal . It has a good surround sound effect.I see movies through it and it gives me an impression of a theatre.The best part about the Philips home theatre is that is is very easy to setup.I would recommend the products to all my known ones.

I installed this unit in my bedroom, mainly to watch movies. The sound is awesome and the bass is outstanding. It was easy to install and use. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

I dig this product, my only complaint with it is the level of bass. When watching a DVD in multi-channel ambisound mode, there is little no no bass. However when I watch TV with it on Stereo, using av input 1-3 the sound levels are stellar. Great overall product, I would most def. buy this again.

This is a great home theater. I wanted a home theater solution for a smaller room without all those speakers and this is perfect. The sound is great to me and the home theater expert who installed it (with the tv) said he was impressed with the sound too. Aside from the subwoofer, the main control panel takes up minimal space also. I love that I can play my iPod, DVDs and CDs plus the TV through this component. The design of the main component is cool looking and easy to operate with no moving parts really. the speakers mounted nicely on the wall too. The only thing i noticed was that the radio preprograms certain stations based on a scan and i haven't found the ability to program in my own stations. I think it's a great value for what you are getting and would highly recommend this product.
