No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I bought these speakers as a quick cheap addition to my Alpine MRP-F300 amp to replace the factory speakers. I was skeptical but because of the price, I figured I wouldn't be losing too much. Well my skepticism. First I had to cut bigger holes in my door panels to accomodate the large magnets. Worse, after about 3 months of regular use at 25 RMS, the speakers started to get that crackling sound when they are about to go out. Even worse, when I replaced my Alpine with an Memphis MCA5004 and gave them a true 125 rms (when their supposingly rated at 120 rms), they started dying even faster. They are definitely not rated accurately, they are poorly built, and a waste of money in all respects.

"I was little skeptical ...

I was little skeptical about buying Pyle brand speakers, but to my surprise, their actually as good as their competitors. I couldn't tell the difference between them or my pioneers, and I paid sixty-five dollars for those. The forty dollar difference and the two year warranty have changed my mind. I recommend these speakers to anyone.
