This Alesis Mixer Works Great! :-D (Alesis MultiMix8 USB2.0 Mixer) Very Flexible and Powerful Configuration Options - well thought out organization and operation. Good Documentation for beginners/intermediate users... :-) Good Sound Quality for both Live and Studio/Recording applications. Everything works beautifully with MacBookPro, used with latest Snow Leopard (up to date as of Jan 17, 2011) and GarageBand/iLife'11. USB Drivers and LiveLite installed easily, tho Cubase LE wouldn't install on my Mac. It would be nice if the Internal Mixer Effects could (optionally?) be routed on a per-channel basis through the USB to the computer, instead of having to use the Mixed channel to record music with effects. Mixer gets a bit warm over time (3-4 hours constant usage), but no audible performance degradation. Maybe I just need to prop it up so it can ventilate better...? (right now, I just have it resting on the cardboard box it shipped in...! :-) Initially, I thought there was a problem with the Headphone levels, as I had to turn things *Way Up* to hear much on my headphones (which aren't very good, btw). But in the end, I discovered that I had my big Speaker/Amp turned up way too loud, and when I turned the gain down on that, then I was able to set the Mixer Levels more moderately so that I could hear comparably well with either the Mains/ControlRoom Speaker Out as with the Headphones, without having to turn up the Headphone/CtrlRm level on the Mixer. Yay! :-) All in All, a Great First Mixer for me. Someday I may upgrade to the Alesis 16-channel, but for now this Mixer does Everything I need! :-D
