Mic does not work

If I hook another mic to the system it works fine but does not with the mic that came with it. I have tried boosting the levels on the camera, swapping channels, and switching from MIC to Line input to no avail. (Originally in MIC position and reverted back) I even tried hooking the mic up to my computer to see what I would get. If I put the level up to 100% and the Boost up full I barely get any level from the mic.

NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT

By Brad Verified Purchaser from Virginia on 07/15/2009

Pros:

Quality Construction, Easy To Use, Lightweight

Cons:

Horrible Static

Describe Yourself:

Tech Savvy

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I was really disappointed with this product. I read several reviews on it that were positive. I used it for an upcoming wedding. It sounded fine until I connected the AT receiver to the camcorder then it was ALL static. I tired switching to both A and B frequencies. Same deal. I was in close proximity to the subject I was filming.

This product is Pro 88W-R35 and comes with mono sound omni-directional mic. I've used 1/8" Stereo Plug to 1/8" Mono Plug Adapter from Radio Shack (Model: 274-0374) for stereo like sound recording. It's [$].I've used it for my friend's wedding, together with Canon HV20 camcorder. For some reason, signal was interfered, so I could not use it during the ceremony (bad statics either A or B setting.. the groom had other wireless mic on him and there was another mic on stand provided by location). I used a shotgun mic instead. But during the reception, it worked just fine. I guess it's depends on your situation whether it works or not. Other than that, it's easy to use and very reasonably priced compared to others.
