I have read reviews of other machines, but always had good luck with Black & Decker products so chose this one. First loaf (white bread) was of course a test to see if we could figure out this new fangled thing. Beater stuck inside the bread and we laughed as we had to tear the bread apart to remove it, and the bread was hard as a rock. I decided to bring the handbook to the store and purchase the requirements for wheat bread. We are not cranberry lovers, but I also purchased a bag of the suggested dried cranberries. (We have not tried the white bread since, but shall one of these days.) I now keep a large bag of dried cranberries on hand to chop into bits and add to our very yummy wheat bread. Oh, we also add about a teaspoon of cinnamon to the mix. Yesterday I added about a quarter cup of nuts. This dragged the cranberries (which normally mix well throughout the loaf) down to the bottom of the loaf with the nuts but, hey...still very yummy. This wheat bread mix with the cranberries doesn't rise very high, and it is delish used for a chicken salad sandwich. It's wonderful! If we get tired of this cranberry bread, we'll try the others eventually. Love the bread maker! Oh, and unlike what I read about other bread machines, it doesn't walk or wobble. Just wish it was a little easier getting the bucket untwisted when it's done baking.
