Great concept could use improvement

By rn Verified Reviewer from ca on 08/25/2010

Pros:

Universal Mount

Cons:

Loose Mount, Limited Motion

Best Uses:

Any Smartphone

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this product after reading a good review. I was disappointed with the quality, though. While the suction and the phone mount work great, The arm is loose and the phone dangles in one angle and the range for the phone mount is extremely limited. I have a car with a sharply sloping windshield and i found it impossible to mount it on the windshield. i ended up mounting it on my dashboard. also the arm is extremely short.

misleading photos - early prototype

By anonymous Verified Reviewer from NC on 08/18/2010

Pros:

Half Price Of The Real

Cons:

Not As Shown In Photo

Best Uses:

Gps

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not the final version sold by Bracketron but shown with incorrect photos of the final one, misleading -- but discounted half price for that. Does not rotate to vertical position, bad for sun glare -- bargain if can still use (lacks the curving arm with ball joint shown). But discounted to half price for that. Early prototype sold to distributors before redsesign. Replaces all other mounts and device specific holders. Should not be left on dash permanently, remove daily to prevent sticking ever harder -- though still removeable even if left. Revolutionary technology, advanced adhesive chemistry -- what should have been done years ago. Solves the mounting problem of gps in cars, where CA etc. prohibits windshield mounts for safety. Finally a workable dash mount. Can be effectively used with a Garmin if the ball from their mounts is screwed to center of the tack pad allowing more rotation with the Garmin holder -- the final version does not require this, use the tack pad. Can also replace the universal holder with a Garmin with a bit of tape on the ball -- 1/32" smaller than Garmin.
