Fun To Play, Easy To Learn, Great Plot, Kid Appropriate, Beautiful Art Direction, Graphics, Great Sound
Teenagers, Adults, Older Kids, Young Children
Okami, developed by the now defunct Clover Studios (Capcom) is one of the most enjoyable and beautiful games of all time. The plot follows Amaterasu on her journey through Japanese folktales and legends, portrayed in a woodcut, water-color style, cel-shaded, and hugely expansive world. The art direction is absolutely superb, and it makes you feel like you are journeying through an animated ink illustration.
There are many similarities to Okami and The Legend of Zelda series in terms of gameplay, with the focus of the game being a mix of puzzle, platforming, and action elements. If you are a fan of the LoZ series, then you will definitely enjoy Okami.
As far as the "cons" go, not having online or multiplayer doesn't detract from the game at all. It immerses you completely in the single player campaign (a good length, I may add) and you will genuinely feel like you're a part of the Okami world.
Highly recommended game! A+
