Well first I have to say I bought it online ([@])from an electronics refurbisher for about 20 bucks. It did not come with a remote and I have yet to find one, although I haven't really tried that hard yet as the tuner is used as a secondary tuner for a dvd/vcr recorder. Dan is correct that it doesn't have an S-video outlet but includes standard video/audio output, HDMI, and Component video out as well as optical and digital audio outputs. It definately expects a good signal, anything less than 45% causes it to loose picture and displays the signal meter on the screen. All in all I'm very happy with this unit.

Lots of Lies;No S-Video ouput, Very slow

By Dandiditagain Verified Reviewer from San Antonio, Texas on 05/08/2008

Cons:

2 Min To Change Channels, Has To Decode Every Time

Describe Yourself:

Tech Savvy, Professional

Pros:

Does Receive Airwaves

How long have you owned it:

A Month Or Less

Best Uses:

Paper Weight, Raises Electric Bill, Base To Support Antenna

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Manufacturer should consider the term fraud. Only one input has to be either cable or airwaves, no way to switch without extra hardware. No S-video output as advertised. Very slow to change channels, 2 minutes, has to decode each channel as you change to it, even if you were just watching it. Only decodes mpeg2, and many cable channels are now using mpeg4. Not worth a penny more than the $50 models.
