Still worked well after wind toppled it

By Tad from Vancouver, USA on 09/30/2008

Describe Yourself:

Enthusiast

Pros:

Versatile, Pattern Wider Than I Expe, Durable

Primary use:

Personal

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It seems comparable to my Radio Shack UHF corner yagi. UHF signals are quite variable at my house and it is hard to make comparisons; I am trying to put it up as high as I can. I recommend more corrosion protection and sealing of connections between whisker dipoles and connector wires between bays. When the wind toppled my temporary tripod mast the antenna bent but was easy to straighten and still worked well.

Channel Master CM4228 Antenna

By Prof. of EE at Ga Tech Verified Purchaser from Atlanta, GA on 01/17/2008

Describe Yourself:

Professional, Prof Of Electrical Engrg.

Pros:

Compact, High Performance, Easy To Set Up

Best Uses:

Long Range Operation

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The Channel Master CM4228 Antenna is a successful high gain design that lives up to its specifications. In going from a standard log periodic TV antenna to the Channel Master CM4228 Antenna, I was immediately able to receive over-the-air HDTV broadcasts without digital drop-outs, as well as additional stations. For attic installation, its vertical orientation is actually better suited to placement high in the roof peak for a few extra feet of over-the-horizon range. Channel Master was bought out by the Andrew Corporation, an experienced antenna manufacturer of commercial and military antenna systems. The Channel Master CM4228 Antenna comes pre-assembled and is ready to go right out of the box. The on-line documentation for the Channel Master CM4228 Antenna is also superior compared to any audio/video showroom item you might find at [@]or other similar retailers.

Made the upgrade to receive locals and canadian stations from Buffalo, NY. CBC comes in at 95% signal strength and zero dropouts. Still waiting for other canadian channels to up their power. Hockey Night in Canada is incredible. Who needs [...] when you have one of these?

"CM 4228a Antenna Is ...

By Patrick B Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 08/28/2006

CM 4228a Antenna Is performing as expected, in a word GREAT. I have it install right now in my attic using a CM 7777 pre-am to help increase it signal. It is picking up the same station as my old indoor amp atenna ( it is replacing ) but at a much stronger signal. Plus I am pulling in 50% more stations as before. Right now it is at a fix position. So the next step is put it on the roof with a rotator to extract its full capablities. From what I have read before and seeing now, if you want to get the most clear reception possible buy this antenna.

The Channel Master ...

By Gail G Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 05/24/2006

The Channel Master Ancm4228 is a very good antenna for outdoor use. It does a great job of picking up digital signals in the UHF band for HDTV. It has a narrow profile (less than 5 inches) and comes with mounting brackets and 75 to 300 ohm transformer for a coax cable connection.
