With Windows 10 Pro

By BB from New Mexico on 09/09/2015

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have owned the WF-7520 since June 8,2014. I have used it extensively for Photoshop work. All photos, including Actor's Head shots and digital artwork have been of superb quality. I am extremely pleased with all aspects to, include scanning, copying, printing, faxing and ink longevity. I would rate it 5 Stars, except that my new Windows 10 Pro OS will not recognize the WF-7520 scanner. To solve the problem I had to purchase VueScanx64 to import scans into Photoshop. (I just found the WF-7520 was still up to date.) Overall, I love the WF-7520.

Piece of junk and ink guzzler

By ticktockman from Boston, MA, USA on 05/26/2015

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This printer by far the worst printer I have ever owned. Engineered for business is a crock. There is a piece of flimsy clear plastic held by an even flimsier thin plastic bar. This piece broke while moving and could not be replaced. Making the auto-feed useless without a big line going down the middle. Also had many problems with ink nozzles and cleaning. No wonder it has been discontinued!

Epson WorkForce WF-7520 All-in-One

By Randy from Wichita, KS on 05/05/2015

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This device is great except for feeding 8 1/2 x 11 paper from tray 1. It keeps taking more than one paper sheet and jaming, or passing several blank sheets then jaming. Almost every fax that is received I have to clear a jam before it will print.

After just a few months, the ADF will only copy with borders although the settings is borderless. Error message periodically on the ADF to 'remove documents' when attempting to feed.

Quality of the prints and the large scanning area

By Suzanne from Canoga Park, CA on 03/23/2015

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This printer is the second Epson I have owned & because of the quality of the prints that I got off the first one it was the first printer I looked at to see if I could find one that would fit all my needs. The first thing that caught my eye was the large scanning bed that it came with. Most a-i-o printers scan 8.5 X 11 or 8.5 X 14 which limits my ability to scan the illustrations I do. This one scans 11 X 17 which is perfect for me because I rarely draw any larger than that so I don't have to go to to an outside company and pay them to scan an illustration for me increasing the cost that I have to then pass onto my clients. The scanner does a beautiful job the colors match the original piece perfectly even if it is printed on plain paper to show the client as an example of what it would look like at different sizes. The Epson's papers are great and make your illustration look better than it is sometimes, but they are expensive so I love the fact that I can print on inexpensive paper and get the same quality print and color matching as the original drawing and don't have to use the high quality paper until I am ready to sell it or use it as an ad or whatever the client wants it for. Someone said to me not to long ago that Epson's are really loud and I had to laugh because there are times that I have to go over to the printer and see if it is printing because it is that quiet. For everything that this printer offers I thought the price was extremely reasonable and that was another reason why I bought it, the first Epson I bought cost as much as this one but all it did was print, with this one I didn't have to buy a scanner which I could not find at the size this one scans at unless I was ready to put out 4 or 5 times the price of the All in One Printer. The other thing that I like is I can buy a roll of paper and print out 13" X 19" prints, so you can print out your own banner for a family member's homecoming, birthday, or whatever the occasion calls for. Overall I am very pleased with the Work-Force 7520 and the quality of the prints, the amount of paper I can put in each one of the 2 paper trays that can hold as small as 4" X 6" and up to to 11" X 17". It holds more paper, up to 500 sheets, than any other paper trays of any other printer on the market. It also prints 2 sides with ease, scans up to 11" X 17". The ink drys so quickly you don't have to worry about handling the print right out of the printer, they are water proof, smudge proof, and with the durabrite ink it doesn't fade up to 100 years. Something that was sorely needed in home/business printers. I sell my prints right off the Epson and no one has ever been displeased. I can watch TV and/or work on my Smart TV and wirelessly tell it to print out my next project. If someone were to ask me what printer to buy I would say get the Epson WF-7520, you won't be sorry, or any Epson for that matter.

Ok verdict still not in. I am having problems with paper feeding in both sizes 8x11 and 11x17. It can be frustrating and scanning setup not so good. when you want to do PDF's it might do it as portrait when you want landscape.

Epson Workforce WF-7520 All-in-One Printer

By Cheg from Nevada, OH on 02/25/2015

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My husband uses this on the second floor of our home, on a Wireless Network. The quality of the print is good, but have not used all sizes or features, so can't attest to the largest scans or copies. He does have a problem with it staying on default print from time-to-time. When that happens, I have to print on it from my main laptop downstairs at the opposite end of the house, then it will re-activate it for him. Thus 4 Stars instead of 5. It's a nuisance, but not sure if it's the printer or the distance from my main laptop and wireless signal. Yes, I would still recommend this printer. We have had two other Epson Printers for some time that have outlasted and outperformed another famous brand, and MUCH prefer Epson, from our experience.

Wonderful printer and scanner IF IT WORKS

By VIXENISH from New Hampshire on 01/24/2015

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

At first OTA printing worked, for maybe a week. Scanning is fast and doesn't jam nearly as much as other brands, but naming/organizing files is a pain - you need to remember to name the file and specify where to save it before ATTEMPTING to scan. If it scanned reliably, I wouldn't have a problem with that. But in 3 months I've spent probably about 10 hours troubleshooting - even directly connected through USB the printer that worked 10 minutes ago will quit working. Don't plan on ease or convenience!

Epson WorkForce WF-7520 All-in-One Printer

By jethroe from Florida on 01/18/2015

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This printer surpass what the manufacturer said it would do. I was really impressed with the company response to my issue. I called and said that this printer was not functioning properly, they woke me through several tests and determine the printer was not operating properly. Without hesitation they advised me they would be sending out a replacement one. Within 5 days it arrived. This is my 3rd Epson. The Epson workforce WF-7520 in my opinion is the simplest one to program and operate. I furthermore like to command staff good customer service.

I guess I should've listened to other reviews regarding this printer. This has been such a waste of time. I have spent more time dealing with so called "paper jambs". It wont load the paper through, not NO paper jamb. I would NOT recommend this product, in fact I will probably throw in the trash just after having it 4 months or so. THE LAST EPSON I PURCHASE

Nice unit but not perfect

By Steelguy from New York (where else is there?) on 12/19/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

As expected, typical Epson print quality. The ability to handle 8x11 and 11x17 is worth it weighing as much as a small 'fridge. Only downside is printing envelopes...will someone at Epson design a paper tray JUST for envelopes so I can buy one, load it up and just swap it in when I need to print an envelope? I am tired of playing Mr.Gadget and swapping out the 8x11 paper to load 3 envelopes and then have to reload the paper afterwards...

Epson WorkForce WF-7520 All-in-One Printer

By Oiving.Glick from Mason, Michigan on 12/12/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My wife and I run a large in home print shop as we do many newsletters, letters, flyers, posters, forms, etc. for a number of volunteer organizations that we belong to and support. Plus we are in the process of scanning approximately 4,000 old family photos (B&W as well as color) to save electronically for future generations of our family. While our old printers did well they just did not have the throughput that we require. Plus we wanted to be able to scan several photos (4+) in one pass for our family history. The most we could do is 2 at a time with our old printers. To date the WF-7520 has exceeded all of our expectations. The one feature we havenot utilized yet if the tabloid print feature but we have a future project coming that will utilize this functionality. Our expectation is that the WF-7520 will perform very well in this area.

Epson Printer

By Manna Income Tax from Undisclosed on 12/12/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased this printer for my small business. I like the features that it has and the print quality is excellent. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the scanner is very slow when using the document feeder. I have a tax service and there is no way that I will be able to use the scanner in the way I intended. This is a disappointment.

Best Printer I have ever owned

By Jimbo from Salt Lake City on 12/03/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This machine is the best in many ways. It uses a very small amount of ink. The printing is high quality, the set up was easy, the features are very good. I have owned many printers over 30 years, many I have not liked at all, I am technical and from the industry and sometimes hard to please. I honestly have no complaints about this printer and that is a rare thing. I would like to buy another one but I don't need it.

Whyskimp on the WF-7520?

By GGCollector from Denver on 11/07/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have had the WF-7520 for several months now and, overall, I find the printer to be satisfactory. However, I am dismayed that Epson did not see fit to put a touch screen on the printer similar to the Artisan 837 which I am still using. The printer is not as user friendly when printing envelopes and, thus, my reason for keeping the 837. I have used Epson printers for the past fifteen years and will continue to do so but with the hope that on future printers Epson will put on a touch screen.

WF-7520

By bevartly from New Orleans, LA on 10/22/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I had an Epson WF-7520 for about 3 years. The print pad wore out. I know it wasn't because of the printer. Although I'm not in business I print a tremendous amount of literature: 100 church newsletters a month (11x17) back and front, 40 programs back and front every 2 months, 24 cue cards (13x19) for skits, a church directory of 6 back and front color, etc. The WF-7520 is a great printer. That's why I replaced it with the same model.

Epson WF 7520

By Heartgirl from Florida on 10/10/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Print speed is a little slow, as advertised, but the quality is good, as is the color fidelity. The page sizes which can be copied cover a wide range, which was the point. These large or odd sizes can be converted to standard sizes, which is very useful. It also uses numerous paper types. The 7520 has 2 paper trays where the 7510 has one: Using 2 produces fewer "load paper" interruptions.

AWFUL PRINTER!!!

By builderswife from Boston on 10/08/2014

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I thought I could make do with this printer, but as time passes, it gets worse. 1. It is VERY LOUD. 2. The roller squeaks all the time and is loud and annoying. 3. The paper continually jams (have tried different kinds), and from both drawers. 4. The rear unit is very hard to get to when said paper jams. I wish I hadn't bought this. I curse every time I print. I hate to waste money, but I am wasting so much time, that I am looking for a new one. It will NOT be an Epson!!!

Very good all-in-one

By helpfile from Undisclosed on 09/29/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This all-in-one does everything well. Setup is pretty simple and it's easy to get started quick. The unit is large and heavy, which is to be expected for the capability of large scans and prints. The scan utility is quite simple to use. Make sure to read the manual, as some of the steps in setup are not obvious (e.g. gently shake ink cartridges 4-5 times before opening and installing). I am very pleased with the print and scan quality and other capabilities this device confers.

Paper Handling: WorkForce WF-7520

By Randy from Wichita, KS on 09/18/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

WF-7520 printed 100 lb. and 110 lb. Cover weight, short grain, 13x19 stock without a problem. LTR size, 24 lb. white paper jammed 50% or more of the time. Also, it passed multiple LTR sheets through before printing the sheet. All features work great however, the scanner, multi-sheet scan feeder, FAX and interface to Windows and MAC computers. I am pleased with the CMYK inkjet on 13x19 sheets. Printer speed is much slower in high quality mode, but acceptable for the quality produced. If the WF-7520 will be used primarily for FAX, I hope your LTR paper feeds better than mine.

Great Printer

By Donald from San Leandro, CA on 09/06/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am a lawyer in solo practice for 22 years. In my office over that time period, I have used many types of printers. They all seem to burn out within a year, and the support was always terrible. Every time the printer would burn out, I would go to the closest supply store and purchase another that would burn out in a year or less. Finally, a friend who is also a lawyer and prints a lot as well told me about the Epson. I purchased one to try it out, and it was so good, that while I did not need to replace the other computers in my office, I did it anyway, and purchased this one to do work at home. I really recommend this printer to anyone who wants a great product with a low price; a printer that really holds up. Donald Drewry, Attorney at Law

So far I am very happy with the product. Set up was easy for USB use. Did have some trouble setting up Wifi using the first option, after I finally gaved up on that after try about 3 times. I went to the second option (which was not using the usb cable to set up wifi) and it worked fine. Really like the ability to make large copies or reduce to small size if desired. Functionality is easy and was able to figure out most of it without the instructions.

Excellent quality and speed

By Princess from Perry County, Pennsylvania on 08/27/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Have been using this printer for 2-3 months and am very pleased with it. I'm a freelance graphic designer, and the quality of the printing is superb. Once in a while it will pull two pieces of paper through at once, but other than that, the operation has been very smooth. The only thing I'm not particularly happy about is the borderless printing feature. One, it won't allow duplexed borderless printing. Two, two of the sides print all the way to the edge, the other two don't. I also wish it had a manual feed. These two things are the only reasons I didn't give it five stars, but 4.75 stars would be more like it. One really neat feature that I did not expect is that when you run out of black ink, it gives you the option of compensating with the CMY so you can still print. Awesome! Overall, I'm thrilled with the printer.

Will not print 12x18

By SSArchitect from Colorado on 08/15/2014

Bottom Line:

Software drivers will not allow us to print 12x18. This is the only reason we bought the machine in the first place. We can jerry-rig it to work briefly, but it breaks for no apparent reason. We are architects who want a printer that will do half size of our standard 24x36in. drawings. Why is this hard?

Couldn't Ask for More

By OldCur from Rural Virginia on 08/14/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I got my WF-7520 in May of this year and have been using it heavily ever since, volunteering for a local historical group that is creating a large archive of documents relating to the history of the community. The WF-7520 has met or exceeded my expectations in every way and offers extraordinary value for its price. My work for the archive project has mostly involved scanning many hundreds of documents, from complete newspaper sections, reports, and photographs to scraps of handwritten notes. I estimate that I have made as many as 10,000 scans with the WF-7520. I expect that I have made more scans by far in ten weeks than the WF-7520 was ever designed and built to do in its entire lifetime. Ultimately, the scanner failed, most likely mechanically. Scanning using the document feeder still works fine (for these scans, the documents move over the stationary scan arm), but scans requiring the scanner arm to travel across the document table are now incomplete. After e-mailing Epson support about the problem and talking with a support technician who had me run some diagnostic tests, Epson has sent me a replacement. I would not hesitate to buy Epson again.

So far it has been a great printer. Read a lot of reviews about how it uses a lot of ink, but so far have not had to replace any cartridges since my purchase. Seems to be great quality. Time will tell...

Full Features DO NOT WORK with Windows 8.1 Driver

By Tb from Boston MA on 07/21/2014

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The Windows 8.1 driver for this printer does not fully support it's features. Most significantly you can not choose paper trays or print 11x17 but there are many other features present in the Windows 7 driver that are missing. Scanning works ok though. This is very disappointing and severely limits the products use.

"OK" 2 Tray All-In-One Unit

By Interior Architect from Phoenix, AZ on 07/19/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Generally a nice unit. Confusing directions. My bottom tray doesn't fit quite right and 'snap in place' properly; I'm sure it's only a matter of time before some piece breaks. Very disappointed that it doesn't 'recognize' originals sizes when scanning, copying or printing sent from the computer, or even landscape versus portrait when copying; so there is a LOT of time 'making selections' whenever you do anything except print a simple 8 x 11 sheet.

Epson WorkForce WF-7520

By ScreenPrintR from New Jersey on 07/12/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great All-In-One printer. Having the ability to fax, scan, copy, and print completes our home needs. We bought the printer based on Price and the All-In-One capabilities. We had to send out two faxes and didn't have a way to do so. We had an HP All-In-One that never seemed to work right. We tried to change the ink to a CIS ink well, and the Printer couldn't handle it. The printer was easy to install. Loved the wireless connection. How awesome is that? Connected are computers to print on it and Bam! up in no time. Thank you Epson.

Epson WorkForce WF-7520 All-in-One Printer

By Hamhock from Des Moines, IA on 07/10/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Purchase 3/21/14. I am very impressed with this printer. After some difficulty getting it to "shake hands" with my Windows 98 Pro, I called customer service and after some time on the phone - they got it working. I appreciate that Epson gives it's customers great customer service. This printer yields excellent print quality, good color and seems to be economical with ink use compared with HP. I have not used the FAX or wireless yet. My only wish is that I could individually feed and print on one or two sheets (labels for example) at a time vs having to load in a paper tray.

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I like this printer but it does have its issues. If you are using 60lb. paper or heavier you will get paper jams. Also since upgrading to Windows 8, despite updating the drivers it does not allow you to print large format. Print quality is great but it is no compatible with Windows 8.

Great Photo Prints

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I own an Apparel Decorating business. Placing personal photo's on Apparel (i.e. t-shirts, sweatshirts, onesies) is increasingly becoming a bigger part of my business. The WF-7520 does an excellent job with it's Copy/Restore Photo's application. I've taken some OK photo's and were able to enhance them with the printer much to my customers delight. It also does an excellent job printing on heat transfer paper. The colors are vivid and transfer very well to Apparel.

Love this printer!

By Nixter from Chicago, IL on 07/08/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this printer so I could print my fine art and greeting cards. I was advised to buy an artisan series Epson, but I needed something that would also be practical for the entire family. I love the large format which is great for scanning at high resolution. It prints beautifully and very close to my original artwork. Bought in March 2014, use it every day and hasn't yet run out of ink!! Super easy to set up and use. The only criticism I have is that I can't get violet tones to print as perfectly as I'd like. Otherwise, best printer I've ever bought!

Great Printer

By Fawndancer from Bellingham, WA on 07/08/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It's really nice to have a wide format printer that prints two-sided and has the capability to scan up to 11x17. Print quality is excellent"I've had people think prints were done on laser printers instead of an inkjet printer! Setup was quick and easy. I had four printers setup and connected in under 1 hour. The Scanning software is easy to use. The Epson monitor is nice, especially when you have 3 printers all working at the same time. My only "negative" is that it doesn't use the larger ink cartridges like the WF-4530 did " which was the printer this one replaced. The literature for the WF-7520 stated "extra large capacity" ink cartridges, but they're the same size as all the others printers....very small. So, I'm a little unclear as to the difference between the "large capacity" and "extra-large capacity" terminology. Rather disappointing after using the WF-4530. At this point, I'm not sure how the WF-7520 will do with large volume printing, so I can't gage the value of the "extra-large capacity" ink cartridges. But this will be on my radar as I use this printer. Ink-cartridge size aside, I still like the WR-7520 and would recommend it to clients that need the larger print and scanning capabilities. If the larger format was not a requirement, I'd definitely recommend the WF-4530 instead.

disappointed

By Miller from San Rafael, CA on 07/08/2014

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have owned nothing but Epson printers for over 15 years. I used to be a professional photographer and at one time owned 6 Epsons at one time for printing photos. I've always loved them. However, I've had real problems with the WF-7520 printer head. There are several nozzles that clog constantly. I've done 25+ head cleanings (wasting a lot of expensive ink in the process), but once they come clean, they clog up again within a few sheets. I've simple resigned to having prints with 'streaking' on them. Other than this issue, I really like the functionality of the printer. I'd send it in for a warranty claim, but the packaging and shipping of the unit will cost as much as i paid for it.

Top printer with the usual quirks

By chocolatewinemaker from Undisclosed on 07/08/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Bought this to replace a wide format printer from another company that had died after 2 years. From a small business point of view: Pros: It uses very little ink compared with other printers. We've printed everything from 4" x 6" photos to 13" x19" posters - all were sharp. The quality of printing is excellent for all jobs except maybe high definition photos. It also replaced a 4 in 1 fax machine. The double side printing capability is excellent. It has 2 paper trays so you don't have to constantly be switching paper out of the machine. Quirks: It was a minor nuisance to set it up to print the fax reports showing a fax had gone through properly (still not sure if I have it right). It will sometimes grab multiple sheets of paper when printing especially if the weather is a little humid. The automatic feeder on the scanner cannot handle newsprint or any other soft paper without shredding it (you just have to use the flat bed instead). It handles regular 20 lb. paper fine. It doesn't remember which tray to use for each document (we have 1 tray set up for letter size paper and 1 set for legal size paper). Observation: This printer is a solidly built machine. It is a quite a bit bigger than a regular size printer. When you set it up, it is only a little wider than the box it comes in. If you are buying this to replace an older printer you might want to keep this mind. (We had to shift things around in the office when setting it up.)

Installation instructions could be clearer. It took me a few minutes to figure out where the USB port on the printer is located. It did not match the instruction sheet. Same for setting up the software using a USB connection and then the wi-fi wizard. Didn't say when to remove the USB connection. Or is it safe to leave the USB connected and still use the wi-fi.

We bought this printer as we had to upgrade a printer that was compatible with Win 8.1. Our employee's exclaimed: Wow, that's huge when we took it out of the box. It does take up a lot of room so you better have lot's of room. We purchased the WF-3540 one month ago and we were impressed so we decided on purchasing another printer for our business. It's too early to tell as we just set it up today but so far it prints fast.

Great Photo Printer

By lenhart100 from Cincinnati, OH on 06/29/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I know that Epson makes a great printer (previous Photo Printer owner), but I had concerns with this one. After seeing it on display ion a local store, I ordered it online. The box received was covered with marks, nicks and crushed corners. If I had seen this condition of a box in a store, I would have bypassed this for another manufacturer's printer. I have used this for printing in duplex, copying photos and documents, and for printing pictures. The only problem is that the ink in this printer needs to have premium photo paper used. I have tried it on an economy paper and the ink does not dry. Otherwise, the printer works well with our household.

WF 7520

By Bonnie from Carrizozo, NM on 06/22/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was planning on purchasing a Stylus printer to reproduce prints of my artwork in a few months, but had to replace my existing printer unexpectedly. Decided to go for the WF 7520. It certainly rivals the Artisan prints of an artist friend of mine. I love it. It was a whiz to set up and using it with the Ultra Premium Presentation Matte 13" x 19" provides great flexibility and super prints of my artwork. I intend to purchase a role of the 13" paper which will afford me even greater flexibility. My only suggestion would be to provide a more complete user's manual. I had to call to ask a very simple question that could easily be covered in the manual.

I find the printer to be and excellent addition to my WF-4020 for wide format. I have discovered that in some programs, using 11x17 paper, it will not auto recognize the second paper tray. I have to remove the 81/2x11 tray in the #1 spot and place the wide print tray in slot one for it to auto select or even recognize the wide tray.

MOSTLY GOOD NEWS

By Bob Price from Albany, NY area on 06/11/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Got the WF-7520 late yesterday and had it up an running in approx. 40 minutes. Some of that time was waiting for the machine to clean the print heads. Overall very high quality product with lots of nice features. I am a Manufacturing Engineer so being able to print on 11 x 17 paper is great. One nice touch is all the little tape tabs that keep things in place during shipping have a end that is very easy to grab to strip off the tape. One complaint is the manual that comes with the machine does not have any instructions on how to print an envelope. It is a serious omission from the manual. To get the info one must download a very large PDF file where one can find in the index the info needed is on page 37. There you will find out that one has to remove all the paper from the top paper bin and place a single envelope, adjusting the paper guides to fit, then reverse the process to go back to normal printing. The machine is large and heavy: you will need an area of at least 16 inches deep x 25 inches wide to place it on. It replaces two HP machines, a wide carriage printer and an all-in-one printer. I was able to talk to a Customer Service person @ 2130 east coast time to get some help and that is just great. Well Done Epson.

Epson WF-7520

By TedB from Garden Grove, CA on 06/05/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

As a home office user, I previously owned an Artisan 810. When it needed servicing due to ink pad replacement, I decided to upgrade so I could scan my daughter's larger artwork. So I was a bit shagrined when it arrived...it has a bigger footprint than I anticipated. That said, it's a very good printer. A plus is that is also uses just 4 colors yet produces colors that rival my Artisan. That's a potentially big deal because I hated stocking at least two of every color in my house in case of an emergency or in case the ink cartridge wasn't recognized by the printer. The ability to pint from any device is also a welcome addition. And the ability to duplex and load 500 sheets at a time is very cool. Overall, this seems like a wise purchase.

Review Epson WorkForce WF-7520 All-in-One Printer

By hwc from Coronado, CA on 05/20/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Set up was fairly straightforward--about 20 minutes total. When I came to the end, the set up application asked if I wanted to print a test page--it failed. I shrugged it off and continued. Then I printed a page on my own and it worked fine. Again via the set up application, there was another glitch when I tried to register--some silly error prevented me from registering, and again, when I registered outside of the set up application--all went smoothly. Seems Epson needs to do some quality assurance in the set up application. Hence 4 stars out of 5.

Poor support for Linux

Bottom Line:

Great piece of hardware. Epson print drivers have well-known bugs on any Linux system, and they are "unsupported". Epson Linux drivers do not support 11x17 printing, and many other large-format sizes bigger than 8.5x14. This is an awesome printer. Epson should add awesome support, like one of their well-known competitors from Palo Alto, for Linux.

By nope from Kansas City, MO on 05/14/2014

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This machine worked pretty good for the first couple of months. However, the trays are very cheaply made, I can no longer print more than 10 pages without having a paper jam, then it skips the page that was destroyed so you have to go back and reprint or rescan that page. The adf no longer works for scanning or printing. It will not feed the original page all the way through and I once again have to clear the jammed paper. I am so glad I bought the extended warranty and am taking it back.

I purchased the WF-7520 over a month ago and just set it up today. So far I must say the setup was seamless and painless including the wireless portion. I've only ran a couple of test pages but I can tell from my previous printer the difference in speed as well as quality. I only gave it a 4 for now as I'm just cutting me teeth on what this baby can do. Another high quality product from Epson and the price fore it didn't hurt either. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a printer that can and will get the job done for most people.

Stubborn sometimes, but always comes through to do what it is supposed to do. I have had this machine for several years, bought smaller ones in the meantime -- always came back to this . Ink seems to last forever! I never could get it to print from the Lowest cassette when I had it set for legal size. This is the 1st time I have been asked for an opinion --I have installed the program this time on a basically empty computer May be everything will work out better. Scans and copies clearly and correctly. I've been willing to put up with using only 8x11 paper because of all the other benefits.

Highly disappointed

By Disappointed from Undisclosed on 04/25/2014

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this printer because of the large format paper which I use to print job plans. Printer jams EVERY time I print duplex copies or multiple copies of a job. When printing with large format paper, several sheets get fed into the feeder at a time. Printing is streaky and poor quality. Only redeeming quality is that it prints pretty quickly for a mid-priced printer.

I love my new Epson WorkForce @F-7520. I am a photographer and own the Epson 2200, 3800 and 9890 pro printers so I am well aware of the power of the Epson Brand. I stand by their brand and have used their printers for many years as you can see by the older versions. The ink doesn't evaporate like other brands I have used in the past. Sometimes you just have to stick with the best! You get what you pay for!

I have used the Epson ...

By Okay from Columbia, MD on 04/17/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have used the Epson WorkForce WF-7520 printer for 6 months. It is an outstanding printer except it makes a clicking noise when double sided is used. But it works. I use the standard mode to print. I do not find the volume of ink used to be excessive nor costly. The scanner is excellent and I can scan to my PC in PDF in 2 clicks. I have used many printers in the last 10 years due to the volume I print. They cost most and were not any better and most were not as good as this printer. I am very pleased with this printer. The cost of the machine was reasonable. The cost of ink is reasonable. The Epson WorkForce WF-7520 prints, scans, copies and faxes, and the software associated with this printer works and is efficient. I have used them all and they all work and they are easy to use. Epson did a good job with this printer. I have an Intranet which is how the printer is connected to the 4 PCs. The printer was very easy to connect and setup. Fast and efficient.

Epson WF-7520

By LibraryLady from Omaha, NE on 04/17/2014

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this product for my home business because I need to scan and copy 11 x 17 and European paper sizes. I was disappointed that it can not scan double sided copies larger than standard 8.5 x 11 sized paper. The unit jams frequently when copying double sided documents or the ADF grabs multiple pages. In addition, it has started streaking when copying double sided documents via the ADF and when I scan with the ADF. I have cleaned the print head, did a nozzle check, changed ink cartridges all to no better result. I am forced to go to FedEx Kinkos to finish my copy needs to meet my deadlines.

Quick shipping, received in 3 days standard delivery. Easy setup. This unit is replacing my older non-networked scanner and 3 printers. From previous experience, I have purchased Epson again not one thing to complain about. Those were 8 years old. They always offer current drivers and updates which makes your equipment last longer. Love it. Will continue to purchase Epson products.

WF-7520

By Bonehead from High humidity-New Orleans on 04/04/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I've used this scanner printer for over a year. I've scanned over 15,500 B&W 10 x12 inch pages both sides threw the top auto feed scan section and a couple of fax batches also. I'm now scanning on table top photos in 300 dpi color from large book. The project will end when I have scanned in 13,000 pages. Once a month I have to fill the ink cartridges up even though I never used the printer to print. Every time you turn on printer it sucks ink threw head and goes to dump reservoir in order to keep heads from drying up. If you decide to use refillable ink cartridges use the cartridge type, the ones with tubes in them will only work if you print everyday otherwise the tube type will dry your heads up in less than a year because of occasional use making your printer not economically to sent off to fix. The tube type uses suction, and if a tube in the printer collapse well the ink will not flow and then dries up the heads. (Using non Epson certified cartridges will nullify the warrantee.# There is no way to unplug a print head once it's plugged, I've tried all kinds of things that were suppose to work. Photoshop 9&10 versions left out the Twain support, especially in 64 bit computers so I use the Photoshop CS #ver.8 2001-3) which is oldest program that doesn't have memory problem crashes and sill recognizes the Epson scanner. The home Epson WIA is recognized in newer Photoshop version, but is useless since it only scans one picture at a time and no control on how you want it scanned in. These printers have printer tubes that split open and making the printer not work or spill ink all over your paper. I think it is when you use the tube refillable cartridges, but can't verify the reason, or it may have been the first few made and was corrected later with better cartridge head tubes. 4-4-2014

Great Hardware Weak Software

By itbebeth from Loveland, CO on 04/03/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Our office purchased this to replace a color laser printer. We weren't interested in an all in one, but the big selling point for us was the 11x17 automatic paper feeder. The hardware functions beautifully. It makes beautiful prints and creates high quality scans. It prints quickly and the User Interface on the machine is fairly easy to figure out. We encountered a rather infuriating problem with the ABBYY Fine Reader software though. It completely disables all Microsoft Office 2013 software. So all of a sudden people were not able to get their email or use Word. Pretty much brought business to a halt for 3 employees for a half a day while we figured out what the issue was and how to resolve it. Turns out there's a different version for machines running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2013, but I was told by ABBYY technical support that it will NEVER work with 64-bit Microsoft Office 2013. Which is rather disappointing. At the same time we purchased this printer we also bought 8 new computers since XP will no longer be supported. It's hard to believe that a brand new printer will not work with our brand new computers. Plus it was rather pricey and time consuming to figure this out. If it was known Epson should make the customer aware of the situation or just ditch the 3rd part software all together. We're still deciding if we're going to keep it or return for something that is fully compatible with our new computers and software. Since all we really wanted was a color printer we will probably keep it. All of the 64-bit Microsoft Office 2013 machines can still print to it. All of the Epson software and drivers work fine, they just won't be able to use the OCR functionality.

So Far So Good

By PEN from Richmond, VA on 03/29/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Just set up and started using the EPSON WF-7520 today, so admittedly early on in the review process. Still, the setup was very easy and the printer quickly connected wirelessly to my laptop across my office room. The instructions were easy to follow and read. And, setting up the initial date/time and other basic information was also a snap. Print quality is excellent on the first few pages that I have printed. I didn't find the machine noise excessive - no more than other printers that I have owned. The paper tray adjusts nicely. Overall, this printer seems much more sturdy and well built than other printers that I have used for in-home purposes. I have not yet tried the copy and/or scan feature, so I am unable to comment on that yet.

Just set up this WF-7520. It set up easily enough. Pictograph for set up was easy to follow. Software CD flowed in a logical progression. Printing was good. Some of the controls are not as intuitive as expected with different symbols that take some getting used to. Also the LCD display is rather small. All in all it seems to be good. Time will tell.

Beautiful Unit

By 108beavnme from Paso Robles, CA on 03/24/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I haven't had this all-in-one printer for very long, but I have tested all the features, and I thought it was very easy to set up. For the price, it's a superb piece of equipment and deal. Since I regularly print out tabloid-size paper, it was one of very few all-in-ones available in the marketplace. It also has many other paper sizes, which is important to a graphic designer. Being wireless is a great asset since I have a laptop, and my boyfriend also brings his laptop frequently, and it's lovely not to have to hook up a printer cable every time. I would definitely order this product again, and I would not hesitate to refer it to a friend.

I am extremely happy with this printer. Very versatile with paper sizes. Set up on the network was the simplest I have ever experienced with any printer. Setup of the WF 7520 All in One

By PoppaHugs from Gilbert, AZ on 03/15/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

For the price, the WF 7520 all in one is a good home printer. The installation can be a little difficult unless you make no mistakes, however, after install, things work pretty well. I haven't tried photo printing yet but I have done A & B size printing with success from more than one computer on the network. I don't believe the installation instructions go nearly far enough. They should not only bring your printer online, they should address each of the major feature as well. Setting up the fax header was automatic but nothing was said about the other features as to their readiness. If the scanner needs no further setup, say so. I bought the printer for its dual trays and 2 sided printing. I had to revert to the internet to find out how to setup the cassettes so the printer knew which cassette to use. This was not intuitive (unless you were the programmer of designer) and should have been part of the original install instructions.

Does Not Auto-duplex 11X17

By psmeiles from Kent,Ohio on 03/10/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Be aware that WF-7510 and WF-7520 models provide "automatic 2-sided printing", only for letter and A4 size (8.3 X 11.7) paper. Two-sided printing for 11 X 17 paper is not automatic. You must manually remove sheets, reverse and turn them following an onscreen prompt. This distinction between duplex and auto-duplex is left unclear in the marketing materials.

I needed a wide format scanner (and printer). This was affordable. I was hoping for better printing quality but I guess I can take those special prints to a printer shop. The most annoying thing is that the scanner doesn't have the 16-bit color capability, or at least I wasn't able to find it.

WF-7520

By Herb from Lummi Island, WA on 03/02/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The installation of our new WF-7520 went withougt a hitch. In spite of being told that a lot of information was required regarding our wireless network, the printer found the network without a probem. I just followed the prompts from the screen. One nice feature was the two paper trays, so I don't have to shuffle paper sizes to go between 11x17 and 8.5x11. The resolution is nice even when copying to different size pages. I would like a bit more sharpness when making color prints, though. It's also nice to have full-size ink cartridges included with the machine. We did pretty complete investigation into similar models by different companies before settling on the Epson. As for longevity ... film at 11:00. Thanks for letting me rant.

I got this printer to replace one that just died of old age. I was surprised at the 40 lb. weight. I had a wireless network, and the instructions to hook up were so easy, I had it done in 2 minutes. I printed some test samples on plain paper, and they were exceptional for an inkjet printer. I have a small home office, and this printer is really overkill for me, but would be great for any small to medium sized business. I have only been using for 1 day, and will make some final judgments in a couple of weeks. So far, nice print, easy setup and works great on my Wi-Fi.

The WF-7520 All-in-One Printer is a great printer for the value. I am stil trying to figure out how to do the dual sided scanning. Couldn't find the instructions in the manual and when I tried it from the scanning software, could not find a setting. It would be nice if there were one dashboard for every printer function, faxing, scanning and printing vs separate pieces. Othe than that with its ability to do 13 x 19 prints is fantastic.

Watch for a sale and BUY BUY BUY (no we don't sell it) the duplex printing is easy and works every time even with the oversized 11 x 17.

Good all round printer but not for printing pictures. I purchased this because my last printer bit the dust. My daughter uses it mostly for school work. It works great for that and I must say it is quicker than the old epson printer I had. It also will do double sided prints. The down side to it is that I cannot get a good copy of any pictures that I print. I have calibrated my monitor but the pictures are nothing close. Colors are off and I cannot display any of my photos coming out of this printer. So if you are not worried about color matching it is a good printer.

Ups and Downs

By MELISSA from PA on 02/18/2014

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Because I just purchased this piece of equipment and am having some initial difficulties, I'm not inclined to recommend this YET. I hope to amend my recommendation status at a later time. I will see how easy it will be to contact customer service. I bought the Epson WF 7520 to scan 11x17 illustrations. Set up was prolonged and difficult. I need to call tech support in the morning about it. WiFi is set up but I so far cannot utilize it. Ink: After one 8x11 color sample print of an illustration, the C cartridge registered as empty and the machine would not allow me to utilize any other function including simple scanning or even check the ink levels. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM FOR ME ANY ANYONE WHO WILL USE THIS MACHINE MORE FOR SCANNING THAN LARGE PRINTING. Fortunately, after removing and reinstalling the ink cartridge, I was able recommence sampling the features. This blip concerns me. At first, the scan function worked well. Since restarting the machine, the scan bed will only scan to 8x11 and I can't figure out how to get it to rescan the full 11x14 size. Since this is the primary reason I stepped up to a wide format all in one, it's a huge problem. I've owned Epson printers since the late 90s and my first Photo Stylus still worked wonderfully the last time I used it so I am disappointed with the difficulties I'm having with the WP 7520. All in all, I've spent over 8 hours trying to set up and deal with the problems. The image quality of the scans (even the partial scans) was very nice. The print quality is not pro quality but it is close enough for the work that I'm doing. I hope that once I figure out how to maximize the features and functions, this will be a useful tool. Given my prior satisfaction with Epson products, I would hate to have to return this for another brand.

So far, I have used this printer to print a letter, an 8"X10" photo, and a 13"x19" genealogical tree. The results were excellent in all cases. In particular, the colors in the photo were almost as good as those obtained from my Epson RX500, which uses 6 cartridges instead of 4. The printer works easily from my computer, my iPad, and my smartphone through a wireless network. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this printer so that I could print on 12 x 12 sheets of scrapbook paper. It works really great for that. Just have to find a program that will allow for borderless prints. But the machine arrived in warp speed, setup was so easy. It is fast and prints really nice. I'm glad I purchased the biggest one because it has two paper trays and I don't have to unload one all the time to put in special papers. Love it and it hooked up wireless to all our laptops.

WorkForce 7520 a true workhorse

By Gadget Man from St Thomas, VI on 02/10/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have owned this product for over a year now and it has done well. Not many manufacturers make a large format all-in-one printer for home/home-base business use. The workforce 7520 is a great buy for me. I scan large portraits and documents with ease and without reduction. My wife is a PR person and she work with her sister to print booklets for family occasions. I am an A/V equipment installer and live sound engineer. I draw layout documentation for installation, floor seating arrangements for events so having a larger page print documentation is a bit more easy on the eyes and facilitates better productivity on the installs. I would advise anyone who does drawing on a small scale to buy this printer. I is worth it. You don't have to always out-source all you drawings and maps

c88 or wf-7520

By Pinkpanther from Louisiana ,Hurricane alley on 02/08/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Im a lover of Epson printers since 1987 because of the ink is durable or waterproof. Ive had over a dozen in the years. I occasionally use my dot matrix printer for emergency jobs. 1 Epson printer only lasted 3 months before the print heads plugged-maybe 100 pages-same c88 ? model before printed over 3,000 pages both sides with few double pull paper, which makes hours of reprints (no other printer brand can come close to that) (must print at least small page with colors once a week in the summer & turn off when not using), making a printer useless. Epson printers have the best scanner utilities, but others are close behind. Some top name printers the utilities are not custom friendly, so are useless to me. Ive had this WF-7520 for one year and still prints well, may have printed 225 pages so far. Changed ink cartridges without even printing. Should have a startup for scan or fax only not always stuck ink out of all the cartridges. All other type or printers do this caveman thing also. All Epson printers die from print heads plugged if you have them long enough. Hurricane alley WF-7520 can put 30-60 pages in and it scans both sides to a file-It still works after 15,000 scans. It very seldom skips if the paper good with no tape on it. The Printer will not print paper over 8 1/2 x11 from bottom tray only jams machine. This also works when you have to fax a pile of pages on both sides, the other end fax will just print one sided.

My 2nd Epson Printer ...

By BP in TX from Houston, TX on 02/07/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My 2nd Epson Printer after 4 years with the previous printer. I was happy with that one, and happy with this one as well. Set it up in 20 minutes - half of the time is letting the print cartridges align and calibrate. No problems scanning using the native Mac OS utility.

Bottom Line:

I really have to compliment Epson for the ease of setup for this printer. WIFI setup can sometimes cause you to pull out your hair - this setup was more than easy. I appreciate the simple instructions and how quickly the printer was ready to inform. The Epson printer process information as quickly as the specs state. I am looking forward to using all the features.

Good value but with annoying surprises...

By RJG from Brooklyn on 01/29/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The WF-7520 is probably one of the most versatile and affordable All-in-One inkjet printer/scanner/fax units Epson has ever produced. That being said, it has quirks that I didn't expect and don't like. First, if you use 2-sided printing a lot, you will be surprised to learn that you can only use this with automatic feed and hence only with regular 8.5 x 11 stock. No custom sizes. You cannot use glossy, presentation, or card stock. Too heavy. Also, the maximum weight of paper for any kind of printing is unclear at best. Hmmmm? Second, initial software install neglects to include Epson Scan, and fax, etc. which you must find manually and install one by one. Network scanning setup is no breeze either. Finally control over switching between paper trays 1 and 2 is dicey, and nearly impossible using the control panel on the unit itself. If you even know enough to change the default paper size for tray 2 to say, 11 x 17 using the Utility, sometimes it follows the paper size selected in the menu, sometimes not. There's more, but I've learned to live with these shortcomings. The unit is worth the money as is and who knows, a newer model may address these quirks already?

Exactly like the Reviews

By Dave from Boise, Idaho on 01/28/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

After reading several reviews before purchase, it turns out that said reviews mirrored the actual product. For example, the paper tray seems cheap, true, but works fine. The paper can jam if not placed properly, true, but once you figure out the magic spot, it works great. And lastly...when scanning it sounds like pieces are breaking, also true, but the scans are effortless. If there is a single complaint its the difficulty of selecting a high resolution print job. Its takes a few steps and occasionally your selections disappear. Overall, the printer was easy to set up and has worked fine so far.

why not scan to Dropbox?

By Glenn from San Luis Obispo, CA on 01/27/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I thought when they upgraded from 7510 to 7520 they would make it possible to scan to either Dropbox or Apple's iCloud, but no such luck. I guess Google is the only cloud service worth their time or trouble to bother with. I like that is has such a large scan bed, but since it doesn't scan to any cloud service I use, it does me very little good.

Epson 7520 13X19" Printer

By Casita from Louisiana on 01/14/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a great printer for home or office. I am putting it to the test for Large Photos to Business Cards, along with letters and scanning. Working just great. Well built and solid as a good product should be, made for long hard rugged use. This is no lightweight-throw-away printer. It weighs a good 40 lbs. The setup was a breeze with the included disk, just follow on screen instructions and you are up and running, ready to print. Although I haven't used the FAX feature, it has that, too. Good for your Home Based business or personal pleasure, this Epson will get the job done. A Quality Product, that really works.

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Really like how it prints. Its fast and the color quality is very good. I am a graphic designer and have a publication that requires a lot of color ads and inserts for proofing. I did run out of 2 inks. It was easy to set up and the scanner works great. Love it has 2 paper trays 1 up to 11 x17. The only negative is sometimes when the paper trays get low it grabs a bunch of paper at the same time. But thats it. Basically I love it. FYI Run on a iMac. Hope this helps.

The printer is supposed to hold 11x17 paper. The trays are not big enough. The paper hangs out over the end of the tray. It still prints on the paper, but it just doesn't look right. Other than that it was easy to set up wireless and prints well.

By Barrya1946 from Rogersville, TN on 01/02/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this printer to replace one that is not Win 7 or 8 compatible. I was very pleased with the features, it has WIFI which allows me to connect to my Verizon jet pack, this is significant as until now I had to use a USB cable to print while connected to the jet pack. I have used it to print letter in tray one and 13x19 in tray two, and it does a great job. I used it to scan a document larger than legal paper, All done wirelessly. It does have a large footprint, so you will need a table.

By Manzita from Portland, Oregon on 12/16/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am using the WF-7520 mainly to print 11 x 17 architectural drawings. Just recently, I have printed 8 1/2 x 11 photographs. In both cases, the quality is above expectation. I also like the ability to print 13 x 19 drawings, which makes the printer ideal for my small firm. A drawback is the steep price for the ink.

Large format printer

By Dick from Portland, OR on 12/16/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased the printer for use in proof printing maps and graphics but also use it for convenience general printing. It has been particularly useful for printing maps at 13x19, although the colors tend to be somewhat washed out compare to large format plotter. The cost of ink is reasonable. The two sided printing has been useful, although I have experienced occasional paper jams in this mode.

Best Value for 11x17 Printer

By ZCarBob from Phoenix, AZ on 12/16/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is my second EPSON Printer this year. I bought a WF-3540 for home use and now the WF-7520 for the office. I am a scheduling engineer and have to print 11x17 Gantt Charts regularly. Based on my satisfaction with the WF-3540 I convinced the home office to purchase this unit and have been very satisfied with the performance. Set-up was easy, however the free ABBYY Fine Reader software conflicted with MS Office 2013 but after downloading a newer version everything worked fine. The printer produces crisp, clear output with excellent color matching. The scanner and scanning software have worked flawlessly. I've used it in both wired and wireless modes. Printing from my iPhone is a snap. For the money this printer would be hard to beat.

Superior product

By JTMaustin from Austin, TX on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is a superior printer if you need the 11x17 scan and/or the 13x19 print capability. I do but I would also only recommend this model to someone who needs those specific features. Most of my friends don't. This reliable work-horse is well built and a little bulky, so make space and get a sturdy stand. It handles media input, double-sided printing, size reduction and print quality managment exceptionally well. It supports Epson Connect, which has proven more useful than I originally expected. For an office printer, this model has a major weakness: it handles envelopes very poorly.

Great all-in-one -- expensive ink

By Pleased from Grove City, PA on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This relatively fast machine is simple to install and to use. It dependably scans, copies, and makes excellent prints on any size paper up to 11 x 17. I purchased a refurbished machine inexpensively from Epson. I don't use the fax function, but copier, printer, scanner work perfectly. Ink is a bit expensive and comes in pretty small cartridges. They don't last very long, but I print a lot of 11 x 17's for presentations, so that's probably to be expected.

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The bad news, the WF-7520 takes up more space on my desk top than previous 'normal' printers. The good news, it works! Simple to operate. Simple to scan. I use this in an architectural office. It prints all my office documents AND half-scale D-size drawings with ease. Blogs all seemed to warn about fast ink consumption. This has not been my problem. I've had this printer for about six weeks in a professional setting and have just started replacing the starter cartridges.

A lot for the price, but you have to work at it

By Steph_m from Andover, MA on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This printer is pretty amazing for its price. I have a need for large fomat printing in small volumes and this fits the bill. Plus it can scan, fax and print double-sided. It's a true all-in-one and replaces 3 devices in my office. The downside is that it is challenging to set-up and to use. I still haven't figured out how to scan and file things the way I want, for instance. And it is relatively slow, so not something for high volumes. But it does what it says it will do, and I am happy with it.

Epson Workforce WF-7520 All-in-one

By Jerry from Maryland on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Near being entirely dissatisfied with the printer: 1. Start with the so called manual does not cover much more than obvious items 2. Online Help does not really read and understand the questions submitted 3. Even after being told that I am deaf and can not use the telephone to secure help; they continue to insist that I call; IF, I want an answer to my question that I should call a given number. I believe that the majority of those needing help would call, leaving the hearing impaired as the ones most likely seeking E-mail assistance, there fore it would be the best policy to handle these inquiries as though they are coming from a hearing impaired person. 4, I am lucky that I use plain paper, not photo paper for my first attempt at any large size prints, otherwise I would be going broke on the wasted paper. 5. The menu should cover ALL standard photograph sizes in the paper size list.

An excellent shared machiine.

By colcam from United States on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Shared by five machines via WiFi, this beastie serves as an 11x17 scanner for otherwise oversize documents and objects, acts as our fax machine, and prints whatever we need printed whenever we need it. It would benefit from larger ink cartridges, but I bought it for my personal use, which would not need the larger size, but wound up having it take the place of a much more expensive machine of another brand that went DOA without warning. It did the job well enough it was drafted as the centerpiece unit.

I love my Epson WF printer! It has so many good points; quick to print, several easy options to select when printing high quality photos or just plain business letters. The only negative thought I have; the large 13x19 Photo paper is expensive. I look for sales each time I'm low on it to see if I can take advantage of this Epson paper. It's a Great printer for Photos or Business or Personal use. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ALL IN ONE. Danny

Abby Fine Reader stops Microsoft Office 2013

By Jim from Waunakee, WI on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

Abby Fine Reader stops Microsoft Office 2013 from working. Many of your reviews have stated this. EPSON needs to tell all owners and new owners of the WF_7520 All-in-One Printer. Any of your printers that have Abby Fine Reader will probably cause the same problem. It took me a while to figure out what caused the problem. PLEASE CHECK INTO IT. Otherwise, the printer has worked well. One of the main reasons that I bought it was for it's scanning capabilities which works well.

A Real all in one

By DRIAFS from Seattle on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I recently reconfigured my office to use desk top scanners and a workhorse printer, replacing a fax and an older, dreadfully slow, all in one. Epson has a good reputation so I purchased the WF-7520 for 4 main reasons. 1) To handle the one off flat scan from books and other bound documents. 2) I print my business checks with Quicken and wanted a tray devoted to the blanks the Epson has two trays and works perfectly. 3) as a back up. And 4) the specific reason for this model, it prints up to 13x19 and scans up to 11x17, so cool! Between the two systems everything i do is pretty well covered. I've had it for several months now, it runs flawlessly and the WiFi is easy for other devices to find.

A fee Quirks

By Good Day Mate from Covington, Louisiana on 12/15/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The Epson WF-7520 has been a trouble free all in one printer, scanner and fax but the machine has a few quirks. The first quirk I found was that the scan function is overly complicated. I currently use a third party PDF program to perform the scan and naming of the scanned documents. The second quirk is that a phone had to be connected to the fax so that I could use the phone key pad to dial the fax number instead of using the keypad on the WF7520. Once I hooked the phone up to the WF7520, the faxing has been trouble free. The manual for the printer leaves much to be desired. Seems a machine with these capabilities shuld have an expanded manual that can be downloaded as a PDF from Epson website. I am experienced scan and fax user and have used machines that were easier to use than the WF7520.

Bottom Line:

This is probably my 20th Epson printer over the last 15 years. Buy far it is the best one yet! Love the fast speeds, card, usb inputs, etc. I tend to use the input on the printer rather than the computer because it's so handy. Print quality is excellent even with 4 colors. I highly recommend this unit

all in one printer

By Specs from Kansas City, MO. on 11/26/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Am very satisfied with performance and ink usage. Have been printing a brochure -color is very good and black/white copies are sharper than previous printer. The balanced scanner cover is great as one doesn't have to prop it up. Only con about it is it is a bit noisy and vibrates slightly when printing. The ink cartridges are a bit pricey and x-high capacity cartridges not widely available except office stores. Printer is very versatile.

EPSON WF7520

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Product is pretty large and bulky, which is fine, I have the room. Do not like that it did not come with a printer cable, as it is used in business office and cannot use the wifi feature. The startup disc did not install the drivers, it took my IT guy to download everything from the internet. Had it only for a few days, waiting to explode the features. Except for the noise it seems fine.

It does Everything I Need it to.

By Alan from Boston on 11/19/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Such a deal. It scans very well, it prints single sided and double sided, and it does both on both "A" size and "B" size (11"x17"). It has two paper holder trays for two sizes of paper (or not, as you get to choose). I believe it also can scan both sides of a document, but I haven't tried that yet. Connectivity is great, offering either USB or wireless.

Easy to set-up. Great prints. I bought it for the larger format and have not be disappointed. Unit is large and plastic trays may not hold up to rough office use, but otherwise very pleased with this all-in-one machine. Replaced a competitor's printer which scanned crooked and never worked properly for 11"x17".

wf 7520 and windows 8.1

By Skip from Mountain City, Tennessee on 11/09/2013

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Print Drivers do not work in Windows 8.1!!!! The menu for print that it defaults to does not have options for paper sizes supported by printer or no other advanced printer settings. Have spent several hours down-loading updates to no avail. Looks like a wonderful machine, but if I can't get it to print 11x17 or 13x19, it is no good for me.

Epson WF-7520 Printer Review

By Chandler from Denver, CO on 11/08/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I recently purchased a refurbished WF-7520 printer directly from Epson. I really like purchasing refirb units because I save money and it includes all of the related items and is packed very well for shipping. Also, they tend to work like new and one can't generally tell that they are refurbished. I selected this printer because of its unusually large scanning bed. Since I already own an Epson WF-3540 printer, which does most of my printing, I wanted a printer that could scan large publications to save me the space of storing these publications for the future. Most people purchase printers and rate printers as to their printing capabilities, I am more interested in their scanning functionality. The price was excellent for such a multi-faceted printer. The shipping was really quick, and considering that it was free, it was really worth it. Everything was included in the box and the printer was packed just like a new printer. Setting up the printer was easy. Just take off all of the tape, put the printer in its final resting place, select the settings, install the cartridges, load the paper, connect the lines, install the software, update the drivers, and generally get everything ready for service. I had no trouble with any of these steps. The printer started to print with no problem and learning to scan with the larger bed took very little effort. Having had the 3540, the Epson scanning software is identical and all it does is ask which printer I want to use before the scanning software loads. It is very smooth and seamless. My roommate has a MacBook Pro and he wanted to utilize the wireless printing and scanning capability of the unit. The printing (on either printer) was no problem. He had a problem installing the scanning software and had to utilize Epson Technical Support. On the Mac side, there has to be two separate scanning software programs. He told me that this has to do with the way the software is written for the Mac. At any rate, the ultimate result is that it appears to work fine for the Mac although not as "elegantly" as for the PC. As I have just begun my scanning project, I cannot attest as to the reliability of the printer, but based upon my usage of the 3540, it should be just fine, if treated with its due respect. It is nice to have both printers from Epson as their fundamentals are so similar as to make it so much easier to operate and utilize. Thank you for permitting me to provide this information.

BEWARE!!!!!!

By Brandon from Undisclosed on 11/08/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This printer is great. Just one thing though. If you use Microsoft Office 2013, the ABBYY add-ins can actually crash your computer!!! They conflict with Office programs, and cause instability. These add-ins are optional, so make sure that you don't install them and you will be fine. Like I said before, this printer really is a good, quality printer. Just beware of the add-ins, and I'm sure that this goes for other Epson products as well.

copy from glass

By Raymond VanDervort from Ray on 10/31/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This was a great buy and is well up to date but we did find a little issue that was hard to find the cause which I'd like to share: If the default to collate copies is set, then you have to set not to collate a project in order to copy on the glass. This makes sense in that the document feeder is needed to collate and since it's not known a single copy on the glass is the project, the document feeder is looking for a stack to feed and nothing happens.

Love the large scan bed; installation was easy for a 'connected' printer, but since my computer does not have a cd drive, I had to download the software --- this took 3 tries. Finally, it installed without a hitch. Major problem: have yet to get it to connect to my network so I can print wirelessly. This is Day 2. If I'm successful and can identify the problem (owner or whatever), I'll post again.

Almost Five stars

By fran from Richmond, Virginia on 10/22/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am the clerk of my church. I have to design many specialty document for the many different programs we have. After much disgust with another company, I chose the Epson 7520 for my church. The quality of the printouts from my work was great. the only problem I have is that I have to use an old printer to print smaller envelopes. I am requested to design a lot of different envelopes and I find this to be a loss of my productivity. That is the only reason for four stars. The printer is great! I still would recommend this to printer to anyone wanting great quality and ease of use.

Initially happy, then...

By Puppycat from Farmington, MI on 10/18/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This machine does print decent text and acceptable (not professional) photos. It is also pretty fast. I also like the extra large scanner glass and wide print size. However, there are several shortcomings. The machine sends and receives faxes but there is no caller ID built in. (How much more would this have cost to program in???) The machine is pretty loud when printing. There is no quiet mode. I am aware that the printer manufacturers sell these at a loss and make it up through the sale of ink cartridges. But this machine can really leave you hanging in a bad position if ONLY ONE cartridge runs out of ink. Because it will NOT PRINT AT ALL even if all other cartridges are full. That's right. You can not even print one letter in black text if the yellow cartridge runs out. So you must keep spare cartridges in all colors close by at all times. Also the cartridges I purchase are the T127's which are supposed to be the extra high capacity type. I would hate to see how quickly the 'normal' cartridges run out. This thing drinks ink like Koolaide in the summertime. But the biggest headache is the inability to print when only one cartridge is empty.

Epson WorkForce WF-7520 All-in-One Printer

By JHendrick from Akron, Ohio on 10/14/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Overall a good printer that I would have given 5 stars, if not for the shotrtcomings of the printing software. Because I bought the printer for CAD applications requiring 12" X 18" paper, it would have been a benefit to have been able to customize the paper size for both paper trays - rather than just one. As a result, I have to have the customized 12" X 18" paper on tray 1 & the default standard letter size on tray 2. Odd...Also, the professional scanning software for the 11" X 17" flatbed scanner is much better than average

Difficult to print larger paper

By Magna from Mountain Grove, MO. on 10/07/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I cannot print larger size paper if I put more than one sheet at a time in the printer in the second tray, and larger paper will not lay flat in try, it has to stick over the back. (to save space the printer takes up, I guess) First tray with standard size paper works fine. Scanner works good, but rather slow. Better on saving ink than some, but cannot get as many prints as it says it will.

Terrific 11 x 17 printer, copier and scanner

By RRGrrl from Seattle, WA on 09/29/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

As a rail transit design engineer, I print out a lot of 11 x17 drawing for editing. It's been difficult to do that on a regular home printer at letter size. The first Epson WF-7520 I purchased had a few problems - the wifi went out, and it wouldn't recognize the printer cable connection either. So I returned the non-working printer to OfficeMax and got a full refund. After further online research, I decided to give the 7520 another try - and it's been golden. In the past two weeks, I've printed ~100 pages of 11 x 17 drawings in color and they've been great. I do my markups, then scan them so I can email them to the CADD staff for completion. Makes working at home a breeze. I would highly recommend this machine.

I have used the WF-7510 at work in a plant that had no real network connection other than a locally connected wireless router. As along that one saw the network and my laptop or smartphone it wouldn't miss a beat on printing 11x17 documents as I needed it. This WF-7520 for my home office is proving to be pushing back with my laptop w/Vista OS with blue screens. Maybe its only meant to work wirelessly with Vista? I'll have to try that next.

DOUBLE SIDE PRINT PROBLEMS ETC

By Anonymous from Williamsport, PA on 09/08/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

EPSON WF7520 WIDE FORMAT PRINTER DOUBLE SIDE PRINT PROBLEMS ETC I purchased this printer in order to print 8.5 x 11 size yearbooks for our church school. by using 11 x 17 sheets of glossy brochure paper. I configured my printer settings for double side printing using this size paper and high print quality then printed, but the printer ignored my selections and printed normal quality onto two separate sheets! I rechecked my print settings and they had all reverted to single page prints and the lower print quality. I tried all different setups and configurations to get to print the way it should. Finally hours later the printer sent a message to my monitor display that this printer would not print double sided high quality prints on glossy paper when 11 x 17 paper is selected it said I must choose another paper size or go with manual feed and use low quality print on plain paper. I hope there is some software or firmware upgrade to correct this situation as I like this printer otherwise, but it will not perform the primary function which I purchased it for at all!

Epson WF-7520 All-in-One

By RetiredGuy from Aurora, CO on 09/08/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

At this writing I have been using the 7520 about 10 months. I really like the machine as a scanner, and for printing text, especially 2-sided printing. I find it unusable, however, for printing color pictures on a page. When I try, it prints a light line, mostly yellow in color and about one printed line in height, all the way across the page. This happens about every 2" in areas of the page that include a color picture. I have tried changing the ink cartridges. It did not help. The machine is connected to my network wirelessly, and I print from any of several computers, always with the same result if the job includes a color picture. I do not know if the fault is with the printer hardware, with printer software, with my network, or due to some other reason. I do know that I have other printers that do not behave this way.

Owned it for a few months now and it has been a great all around printer. One big problem for me is the lack of 12x18 paper setting (required for printing 24x30 arch plans at 50% to scale). Would get 5 stars if they updated the driver to include this. You can add a 3rd party continuous ink system or refillable cartridges to make it more economical.

REVIEW (WHAT ELSE?)

By All my kitchens cook. from Los Angeles, CA on 08/09/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a disjointed, out of order review. I got many false paper jams and had to pull the machine around, pull out the back section, close it firmly and hit OK 2 0r 3 times. Seems to have levelled out. Some of your instruction screens are convoluted and hard to follow. Just entering # of copies is dificult. A "Print" screen and procedure would be very helpful. Why does it not Stop when I push Stop rather than delay a bit? Even though I have a manual, adjusting the cartridges, paper holders and paper size locations is really hard...until I do it several times. I like the machine...really....But cleaning it up just a bit would really have been great!

I did not have a USB cable for setup but, used the screen and had no problem setting the printer up. Print quality is very good on both 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 17. The scanner is easy to use and produces excellent scans. The only problem I encountered was in reading the paper placement numbers on the scanner. Since the border is black and, the numbers are also black, I had to use a flashlight to find and read the placement numbers.

So far, so good

By Jim from Nashville, Tennessee on 08/06/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have only used the printer maybe 20 times. It is quite fast and easy to use. Depending a lot on which paper you use the print quality is great. I haven't used the scanner yet nor the fax so I can not review them but I expect the same good results as with the printer. I have used Epson products in the past and always experienced good quality and functionality. I am a retired graphic designer and work with a lot of photography so the print quality along with 13x19 page size is important for my use. Based on prior use of Epson products and the quality I'm getting with this one, I would so far, recommend this machine to anyone.

Overall good home office printer

By mark0637 from Minneapolis, MN area on 08/05/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I needed a printer that could print and scan 11x17 in addition to letter. This printer has no problem printing large print jobs or scanning multiple sheets of 11x17 without any problems. Works well and no issues to date. Little larger than your normal letter printer, but good looking. Great unit for the cost and really not noisy compared to some other alternatives for large format printing

I own my own business communications company. I have the need to fax, scan, copy and print on a daily basis. The 7520 fits all my needs. The 11x17 capability lets me create brochure mock ups for my clients. Photo printing is acceptable, although I use my 3880 for most of my photos

Great printer.

By Starman2 from Waterford, PA on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros: Fast, great looking B&W as well as color prints and photos Easy on ink. Easy installation, intuitive front panel controls. Convenient memory card slots. Cons: Envelopes have to be printed from cassette 1 which means you have to unload the main paper cassette every time you want to print an envelope Envelope position indicator is stamped upside down causing you to print upside down if you forget. Slows down computer restarts since the card slots are recognized as disk drives.

Review Epson WF-7520

By G.O. Graphic from Wilmington, NC on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was initially attracted to the Epson WorkForce WF-7520 because of it's 13"x19" paper size. I have had many Epson printers in the past & always found them to be Macintosh graphics friendly, and easy to set up. However, the WF-7520 has been very difficult to set up, especially networking. I still have problems with the WIFI setup that I have to work around thru my Airport network instead. Once finally set up, it has been a very good printer, spitting out good quality images on different size paper quickly. It's quick to start up, ready to use as soon as it's turned on (no warm-up required like laser printers). I print different sizes all the time and it automatically selects the right size without a lot of hassle. I wish the copier feature was faster, it's very, very slow & I've tried several options without success. I have an Epson Artisan 810 that spits out copies a lot faster and with higher quality. I use the double sided print feature to print my brochures, it's not laser-fast but reasonably fast for my needs. The control panel is confusing and I find myself just guessing options. I wish Epson would make the control panels more intuitive. All-in-all, a good all-in-one printer for regular daily office personal use.

3 replacements during first year

By Bob the Financial Planner from Pittsburgh, PA on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I generally like this product, but have had a lot of problems with it. I do some 11x17 printing and a lot of 2-sided printing and this printer does those things well. On my original printer I had some problems with streaks appearing in large blocks of color. That was the reason why I got my first warranty replacement. Then that replacement printer started printing a solid black line on everything that went through the ADF. I then exchanged that printer for printer #3, which mangled about every 4th or 5th sheet that was fed through the ADF. I now have printer #4, which I received as a replacement just a few days before the 1-year warranty expired. I hope this latest printer holds up better. Through this whole process the service I received from Epson was very good. They agreed to replace the products without argument and the replacement printers were received promptly. On one of the service calls I got a guy who couldn't speak or understand English very well (the Epson service call center is in the Philippines), but all the others were easy to understand and work with. In summary, I like that this printer can do the things I want it to do, I generally like the quality of the printing, I am disappointed with all the problems, but I'm pleased with the way Epson resolved them.

Instructions

By Sandi from Clarence, New York on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I am very pleased with the quality of the copies and the copier itself, but not with the use instructions. I feel that I can be doing so much more with it but cannot figure out some of the features. The booklet gets you started and online doesn't touch on much more....one example is the dual paper cassettes. How are they used? Cannot find instructions online or thru the copier's menu. Things like that that may be common to regular office workers, not the at-home consumer.

Overall I am very pleased with the performance of this printer. I needed the 11 x 17 capabilities and the "feed" for multiple page scans is excellent. Makes scanning a breeze. Only problem I'm having is I'm getting blue lines running across my printouts and I haven't figured out what is causing these yet.

WorkForce or Work HORSE

By Virginia appraiser from Roanoke, VA on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros: Easy to set up, easy to hookup for network use and provides clear, crisp copy. For the money, it can't be beat. Changing ink cartridges is a breeze (easier & cleaner than toner cartridges) - no fading print as the ink runs out like most laser printers. Cons: have to keep the paper tray filled or it will start pulling more than one sheet of paper at a time.... no biggy. Can't tell about expense for ink per work project -- been too busy to figure it out.

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is the second WF-7520 I bought. My first one was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. When that happened I immediately went out and bought the replacement. This "All-in-One" truly delivers on its name! All its functions work flawlessly and effortlessly, and the results from letters to drawings to photos are crisp, clean, and are printed quickly. The added bonus, is the wide format which works very well for me. Yes, its a GREAT machine.

By Anonymous from NM on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Do a lot of 11x17 format architectural drafting. WF-7520 is fast, quiet and conservative in the amount of ink consumed. Use it as my go to printer. Since it has two trays I keep one stocked with 11x17, while the other is stocked with letter size paper. Double sided printing feature really saves paper when printing technical .pdf's.

Overall, the printer is good. I bought it for the wide format feature, which works well. What does not work well is the duplex feature which ends up jamming the printer frequently. This is frustrating and a waste of time.

versatile all-in-one with decent software

By genesound from Los Angeles on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a versatile all-in-one and didn't cost a fortune. The software doesn't slow the hosting computers to a crawl, and the wireless network performance rocks, being almost as fast as having it wired. It handles large paper and all paper handling is very well done, without paper jams or crooked prints and scans. I'm quite well pleased.

Love the WF-7520

By jojomos from Winston-Salem, NC on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I love this printer/scanner/copier. The print quality is great. It is reasonably fast. It handles 11"x 17" paper. The scanning function works wonderfully with very good resolution in color or black & white. The high capacity ink cartridges last a long time. The copy function works wonderfully. The only issue I've had is that approximately 5% of the time when doing 2-sided printing the paper will jam during the "flip the paper over" process. However this only occurs when the paper tray is full. If the tray is not filled more than 75% full the paper jam never occurs. I can not comment on the wireless function since I'm not using it and the same goes for the faxing function.

Happy Camper

By Steve-g from Dayton, OH on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

After avoiding Epson printers for a half dozen years, I decided to try again. And I'm glad I did. I had been using a very good duplexing color laser and a wide format MFC inkjet from one brand, plus a monochrome laser from another manufacturer. But it was just too much to sustain. The WF7520 presented an opportunity to consolidate the functionality and purpose of three printers into one " with an 11 x 17 scanning bed to boot! It's fast and quiet; output is crisp and vivid; ink consumption is downright miserly (and ink carts are priced very competitively); and I can print and scan from my phone if the need arises. My skepticism toward Epson has become evangelism. If you need a solid workhorse of a business printer, buy this bad boy.

a printing beast

By DCB in NYC from NYC on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This printer is huge. Handles larger print sizes well. It has a large footprint and is comparatively heavy, as should be expected. It seems very solid compared to the flimsiness of other brands I've owned. Ink cartridges seem to last longer than other brands. Software acted oddly when I first installed the drivers, would have been better off downloading directly from the website to my Mac.

Great Machine

By Manta-1 from Rochester, NY on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this because my other (brand) printer was causing me trouble. From the get go this machine works GREAT. It prints fast and quietly. It has 2 trays for different size printing, a real plus when you are in a hurry. Epson always develops great printers and this one is no exception. This is my third one. I love that this is a large format printer and scanner, very beneficial in my line of work. I don't have to run to the local print shop to get 11x17 prints. This was the machine to go in any office.

Workforce pros & cons

By faye from PA on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

1. Prints beautifully on pages up to 13" x 19" which is why I got it. 2. Ink tanks make it very economical to run. 3. Pints beautiful flyers. I have used it for posters 4. Ink really dries instantly. 5. Has 2 paper cassettes that you can set as default for a software program like Quickbooks so it will always draw from the designated cassette to print for instance- checks. But you can still have plain paper in the other cassette so you do not have to change paper. Cons 1. Paper jams when there is not much paper left. 2. Distinctive ring fax is not dependable. It tends to answer when the call is not a fax. 3. You cannot use an answering machine with it no matter what it says. All the all-in-one machines I have had in the last 15 or more years has the distinctive ring feature figure out which call it is by the second ring. This machine assumes it is all other calls first and then tries to figure out if it is the distinctive ring. So I can't use my answering machine on it because it can't dependably tell if it is a fax or not so the answering machine picks up at the same time as the fax. I tried all different number of rings to answer but the distinctive ring fax only works most of the time when the machine is set to answer on 4 rings. Because it gets mixed, the fax machine screeches into the answering machine. I have set up 6 machine for distinctive ring over the years and never had a problem.

A Very Good Machine

By Harrbru from Huntington Beach, CA on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This has been a perfect solution for me and my home based engineering consulting firm because it does everything I need in one simple package. I've had all-in-ones before but the ability to handle the 11x17s often accompanying reports is great. It's a relatively small footprint for all it does and the Wi-Fi connection has allowed my whole group to use it eliminating wire clutter and excess supplies for individual printers. Setup was easy. Its pretty cool to be able to see something on my tablet and print it from where I'm sitting regardless of where I am.

I am extremely pleased with my WorkForce Printer. The quality of prints is exceptional and I have had no jams or other maintenance issues in the 5 months I have had this. I am a graphic designer and use the WorkForce to make proofs for my clients. The color is actually more accurate than the much more expensive older printer that I was replacing. Having 2 paper trays is a big benefit.

The WF-7520 does exactly what I want. The large format is essential for my work as well as the great photographic printing. General printing is clean and crisp even with 90 lb paper. I love this printer for many reasons! 1. The water proof ink for labels for our farm stand. 2. The 2 sided printing. 3. The large format for posters. 4. The photo quality. 5 The ease of changing ink. 6. The wireless feature for better locations in my office. I don't like the printer because: 1. Difficulty copying large format objects on large format paper. 2. The scan feature doesn't send back to my computer (apple). 3. It is very difficult formatting for 4 up two sided 11X17 newsletters.

Excellent printer!

By Techprod from Los Angeles, CA on 08/01/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This printer has been awesome from the moment it came out of the box! It was the easiest install of all the printers I own (of all brands!), great print quality (not fabulous for photos, however, but acceptable-the only criticism for this printer, but then it is an office app machine, not a photo printer), nice oversize copy/scan glass, easy scan to PDF process, and above all, EXCELLENT TECH SUPPORT! I had to call them one day. My printer is out of warranty, but they answered my question(s) without an argument. Quick, easy, simple and good answers. Oh yes, one last thing. It was really easy to set up with a new router. My previous printer took ages to get set up. I would recommend (and have!) this printer in a heartbeat. I think it yields pretty good ink usage, too, which used to be a major complaint for Epson printers.

I am impressed. Powerful printer plus fax, scan, and copy. I replaced a printer only that cost 2.5 times the price I paid for this all-in-one and I have zero regrets. I bought this printer some months back, and so far it has performed well, with its excellent document feeder as a highlight. Compared to the Brother unit that it replaced, it also has considerably less lag time between copies (we use this machine mostly for scanning and copying). I only withhold the 5th star on account of the high price for replacement toner.

I've been using the printer for about 2 weeks and it works well, but I already see a very thin white line in most of my color prints so I will need to call customer support about that. Makes great copies, very easy to use. I printed photos with excellent results on Epson Luster Paper. The ink dries immediately. With 2 paper drawers didn't have to remove any papers. Scanning is very easy. Wifi setup was so easy and fast. I am able to print directly from my Smartphone.

Works Great, especially two sided scanning

By LynnG from Marengo, IL on 07/08/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Took the printer out of the box and found it worked perfectly from the get go. You have to follow the setup instructions in the quick start guide for wireless setup and not try to manually set it up from the menus. The printing and scanning software is easy to use. You will want to practice using the auto select and the manual choice of paper trays. Same with scanning, the sheet feeder handled a 5 page dual sided scanning to PDF job perfectly but you will want to practice the process to get all the options down. I would definitely get another one of these. Oh, one last thing, the paper capacity, out of this world compared to others, I wont have to replenish more than once a week with this one, Great!

Great document printer

By NEO IT Worker from North Eastern Ohio on 07/04/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought the WF-7520 because it was rated above average as an all around printer. My daughter is an AutoCAD user and I thought it would be nice for her to be able to print and scan the 11x17 plans. I needed the fax and document printing for spreadsheets and word docs and my husband likes to print his hunting pictures on 8.5 x 11 paper. The fax, large size print, and document printer all get a 5 star rating. Best yet, the ink cartridges seem to last longer than on my other non-Epson printer. However, the photo printing gets a two star rating at the most. 8.5 x 11 pictures with dark backgrounds have lines through them that even with upgrading paper to Epson photo paper, nozzle cleaning, alignment, new ink cartridges and the latest driver upgrade still appear. If you're using it mostly for home office and don't need to embed large pictures or print larger pictures, then it is excellent. Otherwise, go for a printer that is made for photo printer and takes up less area in your office.

Excellent so far

By Heitkeri from New Berlin, WI on 07/03/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have just completed the setup on this printer and it was no trouble at all. That is definitely not true of other printers. The paper trays are a little difficult to understand at first if you are not used to them but I got the paper guides set up correctly now and it is having no trouble at all. I will have to wait and see long term how this product fairs. For right now though, they have my attention. I really want to create new projects just so I can print with this printer to test it more thoroughly.

By Chris from Undisclosed on 06/27/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have owned many printers. By far, this is the best. Large format printing makes it perfect for projects. Color is excellent. Double trays are very convenient for using different size paper without needing to change. Ability to scan all size documents is valuable but two sided scanning is incredible! What a work saver. Best of all, the printer is not an ink hog like my older printers. I love it.

Don't like it.

By WTM65 from Lebanon, CT on 06/25/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Epson's little filter thing keeps flagging my review content so this is VERY brief so maybe it gets through... I am not happy with - Print head dry out. I have to spend hours cleaning it and restoring it to full operation. - Jams frequently on standard printer paper. - Sometimes trouble with getting WIFI to duplex, sometimes okay - Adobe CS6 printing to this very hard to configure to get the output you expect. I've owned four prior duplexer printers, and I found them dependable. No ink dry outs, very little paper jams. This unit simply has issues that I feel would be a problem for small business users.

Super Big Scanner

By HPorEpson from Dayton, Ohio on 06/19/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a very nice machine. I have been looking for a large platen scanner for some time. I usually have to use another company's A3 scanner. This beats them bad. This thing is fast and does DOUBLE SIDED! It's great. I do a LOT of scanning. The printing is beautiful and makes great pictures as you would expect from an Epson. Now the bad. IT REALLY NEEDS AN ENVELOPE SLOT! Also, at least on mine, when you load 8 1/2 X 14 paper in the bottom tray, there is no 'STOP' for the tray to lock in place and it wants to bend the paper when you put the tray in the printer. All in all, you will really like this printer/scanner.

Workforce Printer

By Aerator from Arizona on 06/14/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Epson Ink-jet printers are my choice - as the inks are water-resistant and smudge proof. The dual tray is easier for me, allowing 11x17 and 8.5x11 storage for quick printing. Two issues have occurred. "Automatic - two sided printing" does not use a rotational tray design. The printer requires the operator to turn the paper over and resend it to the printer. Second, some smudging has occurred on two sided printing. As is usual, the Epson controls are not intuitive for me, so get ready to waste some paper on incorrect layouts.

Workforce W 7520

By lightwoman from columbus, nc on 06/05/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I enjoy my new all-in-one. Almost everything the box said it does, it does. I am an artist living in limited space and will use it primarily to scan & preview and print my work in varying sizes. I'd like more control over the scanner settings. The fax is useless to me, wish they made one without fax, and the color is a little off--I am still working out the kinks. The biggest thing is that I am a MAC user and I cannot get the printer to connect through wireless. This is a great annoyance. The price was RIGHT!, availability was right, the Epson 2 year service agreement is right...

Reliable all-in-one printer great for home office

By 2Much2Do from Duluth, MN on 05/30/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have been using this for almost a year and it has served its purpose well. The wide-format printing, copying and auto-duplexing has been very useful. However, the lids for the slide-out trays are very awkward to use.

Windows 7/Office 2013 Users Beware!

By flukey from Houston, TX on 05/27/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Printer is great but the software install needs serious help. There apparently is a major foo-pa with the driver included on the CD. It rendered my freshly installed Office 2013 running on a fresh Windows 7 install completely unusable and unrecoverable. Starting any office product subsequent to loading the driver resulted in "Office error - unable to start". Repairing Office 2013 failed to correct the issue. Reloading Office 2013 even failed to correct the issue! I had to restore the entire system partition from a backup (or reload windows from scratch if no backup). This is really an unforgivable problem! The second time around, after several wasted hours I updated the Epson driver from the internet before completing the software install and it seems to work fine now. The meager written documentation included in the box fails to contain key information needed to run the install CD - like warning the installer to be sure to get the latest driver off the internet before installing and also even a brief description of what the software installation options are and what they do! When installing, you must either answer yes/no or abort without even knowing if you want to install the feature - like "Epson Connect" which turns out to be a email print proxy server that you might just not want. Regarding the printer - WiFi setup was easy even using the keypad entry method. No problems connecting to 802.11-g or 802.11-n. Throughput on scanning was pleasingly fast compared to older Epson USB2.0 interface. IMHO Epson makes remarkably high quality scans & prints - I have owned quite a few to compare with. One minor disappointment though was discovering that the scan from printer console feature is rather limited in choice of LAN destinations. My workaround was to just plug a large capacity USB stick into the printer and park the scans there until they can be picked up later as mapped local drive at the workstations. Will be using this unit on a LAN with a variety of platforms including XP,Vista,7, and MAC OS10 so I'll report back if any other issues come up.

Finally! A scanner driver that installs properly!

By Tony from Cincinnat, OH on 05/25/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I just upgraded from a Workforce 600 to the WF 7520. What a dream the install was relatively speaking. I tried upgrading to WF3540 but found that several WF scanner drivers would not load. Luckily I found a really sweet deal with the upgrade discount by turning in my old WF600. This was worth the money and the printer seems to be printing as advertised. I expect nothing less than superb photo quality prints coming in the future.

Value defined:

By Montana Mike from Montana on 05/21/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have been an Epson fan for many years, mostly because of the individual ink color cartridge. I also have to mention the outstanding warrenty and shipping that was honored by Epson. Thankyou! This particular workforce machine is all that was advertised. Love the fact a full ream of paper is at hand, don't have to be refilling all the time. The ink goes a long way when you settings are correct. What I mean is everything does not have to be "picture quality" I printed 250, 2 sided color broschures, it took a while but they got churned out with 0 problems. Thanks again Epson for the 2 sided capabilities! What a paper saver with the click of a mouse. I have to mention the legal size scanning capability, again thanks. In a day and age that large corporations take full advantage of consumers, it is very refreshing to get all your moneys worth plus excellent support and value. Thanks again for great value, support and just being there for us!

Epson WF-7520 Exceptional

By DesignGal from Omaha, NE on 05/21/2013

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased this printer for my home design office. I would highly recommend this printer. It far exceeded my expectations. The additional options this 11x17 printer has such as duplex and enlarge/reduce copying makes everyday office work a breeze. I also like the scanners ability to place several photos on the glass and it automatically recognizes individual photos and saves each as a separate .jpg file! Very user friendly with a front screen that if an error occurs it shows pictures such as where and how to un-jam paper. Great printer for the price!

Bottom Line:

So I don't know what some of you did, I got this home and while the drivers were downloading I set up the printer and added it to my wireless network. I then installed the drivers and after about 10 minute I was printing with no problems. The feature set of this printer is adequate for my needs. Print quality is above par. I have had no issues yet. A lot of the reviews complain that this printer uses too much ink, I ask have you ever printed large format on a 4 color inkjet, they all go through a lot of ink, so I have no problem with how much ink this printer uses. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

WORKFORCE 7520

By SAM from united states on 05/17/2013

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have not bought a Epson printer in 20 years, saw the workforce and bought it. Setup was ok did a USB connection and it would not find the printer and took a couple of tries . I find this all in one NOT very user friendly, 1st the auto select of the paper tray does not work, I print a lot of 11X17 that comes from tray 2 and have to go in and select tray 2 and yes this is done after I have already selected
