I purchase the Fellows MS 460Cs because Ive use their shredders before (large professional office models). Generally Ive been impressed with the ease of use and the excellent shredding power of their units. The 460 seemingly had everything I needed. The best feature in my opinion is how quite the machine shreds, definitely a plus if noise is a factor in your working environment. The biggest concern I have with the shredder is the fail safe shut off system. Although I understand the reasoning behind this safety feature, when shredding multiple sheets (less than 6 sheets) as the paper feeds into the shredder the multiple sheets of paper tend to wrinkle as its being pull down into the shredder. 6 to 7 times out of 10 this condition causes the shredder to shut off and the amber Safe Sense light comes on (please see attach photos). At that point you have no choice but to forcefully remove the remaining unshredded paper from the feed slot! This is very difficult and very messy; the little pieces of paper fly everywhere. Which bring me to my next comment regarding the improvement of the 460 and for that matter a lot of other models. The shredder bin could be re-designed so that the provided and costumer supplied bin bags would fit better to capture all of the shredded pieces of paper. This condition comes apparent when opening and closing the paper catch bin. There always seems to be several pieces of shredded paper that make their way between the basket and the inside of the shredder drawer (outside of the bag). When the drawer is removed/opened to be emptied the catch bin contents, these remaining pieces usually end up on the floor around the shredder. The shredder does a very good job of reducing/shredding the paper into very small pieces which are also very hard to pick-up without the use of a vacuum cleaner on carpet or a wet cloth on hard flooring. There is also a noticeable amount of static charged dust associated with the shredding process that doesnt seem to make in the collection bag either it mainly wants to cling to all the plastic sidewalls of the shredder.
