Works as advertised

By philthy from Sherman Oaks, CA on 10/29/2011

Was this a gift?:

No

Pros:

Easy To Setup, Better Sound Than Laptop, Easy Controls, Easy To Set Up

Cons:

Poor Sound

Describe Yourself:

Audiophile

Best Uses:

Simple Lp Playback, Vinyl To Digital, Smaller Rooms

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The analog to digital is the reason for purchase. Using usb out though, signal is over-modulated and resulting signal is distorted. I will try one users suggestion of using headphone out to microphone and use laptop mic volume to limit incoming signal. Seems like the hardware or software should have been modified to allow appropriate use of usb signal delivery.

works as advertised, but...

By ncarch919 Verified Reviewer from north carolina on 02/14/2010

Pros:

Audacity Software Rocks

Cons:

Radio Antenna Is Awful, Whole Thing Is Cheap-o

Best Uses:

One-time X-fer To Digital, Then Pitch It

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The ONLY use I can think of for this thing is a one-time transfer of my old vinyl and cassettes to digital format. Once that's done, I'll see if I can find someone to give it to. The Audacity software really rocks, but that is FREE software, readily available online, and has nothing to do with the unit itself.

Good quality

By DaveK Verified Reviewer from Indianapolis, IN on 02/09/2010

Pros:

Lots Of Features, Beautiful Wood Cabinet, Nice Sound, Solid Construction, Great Fm Reception

Cons:

Usb Audio Was A Bit High

Best Uses:

Transfer Tapes To Cds, Record Radio To Cds, Transfer Records To Cds

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I was blown away by the high quality, super features and low price of this unit. This is better than the Crosley stereos, but a lot cheaper. The only downside was that the USB-to-computer audio was a bit high, but I was able to use the audio cable that came with this to patch from the headphone output to the computer mike input, then the recording went GREAT!
