best purchase I've ever made

By Silence Dogood Verified Reviewer from Palatine, IL on 10/28/2009

Pros:

Awesomeness, Performance, Speed

Cons:

Price

Best Uses:

Windows7

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is one of the most expensive, but best computer components I've ever purchased. From the end of my PC's post to 64bit Windows7 desktop (including loading AV) is less than 10 seconds. She was pricy and in 6 months she'll be half of what I paid for her, but I'll just buy another and stripe them. 80gig is pretty small, but I set mine up as my system partition, I also loaded BF2 on it for the performance boost. BF2 from Icon click to game is about 15 seconds. Compared to 4+ minutes that it takes my brothers machine. he's actually thinking of buying one just so BF2 loads faster. The rest of my data is on 2 sriped 1tb drivesI bought it through beachaudio [@] and it was priced [$] less than anywhere else I looked, and at the time in stock.Intel released a firmware upgrade for the 160gb drive that increases write performance by 40%, from about 70mbps to 100mbps, no firmware for the 80gb yet, but hopefully that is in the works. I think this alone can increase performance better than any other component on the market, and Intel blows most other SSD's out of the water as far as read write speed, so stop reading and buy this product. Warning: Intel SSD's have the same effect as Viagra etched with 3 wolves and one moon. What this drive has given me has lasted a lot longer than 4 hours, it's lasted since the UPS guy rang the doorbell. I don't quite know what to do about it except feed this new addiction with more once the price drops.
