Stuck after 3 months

By Tommy L Verified Reviewer from Maryland on 02/04/2010

Describe Yourself:

Casual User

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I don't use it often. I wish I had read the reviews that other people left at other sites before buying this. Like many others, it seems, mine froze in place. Since this thing is up on a 50ft tower it's not something that you can just go up there and whack it. (like channel master told one person to do). If i'm going to rent a manlift (at $300 per day) then i'm going to replace the entire unit, not take chances that it will freeze up again. Don't buy this!

The quality of the CM rotor is shameful

By finao from Freeport, FL on 10/11/2009

Pros:

Nice When It Worked

Cons:

Un-reliable

Describe Yourself:

Enthusiast

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bought mine approx 1 year ago (Nov 08) preparing to mount it on a 50 foot tower with a CM 4228 antenna. Raised tower in Jan 09 and was up running by Superbowl (Feb 09). Rotor worked up until mid April 09 and hasn't worked since (worked for 2 months!). Antenna is facing due south and I pick up a few stations; although there are times during the day/evening I get audio cutout and "no signal". My only option to replace it is to rent a cherry-picker to get me to the top of tower. I KNOW I WON'T replace it with another, only to have it also fail. Channel Master should NOT have moved their manufacturing from US (Ohio) to China. They've certainly ruined a great product by doing so! Freeport, FL

Rotor Failed Shortly After Install

By Mark the Engineer from Felton, CA on 03/20/2007

Cons:

Unreliable

Pros:

Seemed Durable

Best Uses:

Outdoor Antenna Rotator

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Rotor motor froze up several months after installing. Fortunately the antenna was pointed in a direction where we could receive most stations clearly. Would recommend an alternative product.

This product has gone ...

By Norman Communications Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 06/10/2006

This product has gone down hill since they switched makers. The motors frequently stick when fully turned and they also turn to easily in the wind. Have had nothing but problems with them since they changed the color of the motor from yellow to grey (pretty much). I sell antenna systems alot and wish someone else could build a better rotor.
