Rich Sound, Comfortable, Lightweight, Great Little Travel Case, Noise Isolation, Sound Detail, Small For Travel
I would rate these 4.5 stars if the rating system would allow, rather than 4. I travel almost every week, and listen to music and podcasts on an ipod while in the air. I have been using the Bose QC2 headphones, which are great for noise isolation and rich, warm sound. My only complaint with the QC2s were the large travel form factor - when I was carrying a lot of files/papers in my bag, the large Bose case was tough to stuff in there. When I read about the Klipsch earphones, I was somewhat skeptical at first about their comfort after trying others with similar claims, but have been astounded as to how light and comfortable they really are - much more so than the Bose. I was also amazed at the sound detail I was starting to hear on tunes I had listened to several times before. Stuff was there I had never heard before. Along with that detail, however, came a "cold" attribute about the music - the Bose did sound warmer and smoother. It's hard to describe; almost as if the songs sound slighty different than you remember from your stereo, car, or any other time you've heard them. It could be the amount of detail I hear that is giving me that sensation, or the Klipsch have a frequency curve I am not comfortable with yet. I have been playing with the EQ on the ipod to try to find a "warmer" experience. However, the Klipsch do not feel fatiguing in any way over a long listening period, and still have a very high-end sound that I am getting more used to every time. They also have an amazing ability to isolate sound; equal or better than the Bose. (Please keep in mind these comments all apply to use in a noisy aircraft cabin.) Overall, I am very happy with the change, and would make the switch again in a heartbeat.
