Solid Tower very suitable for Home server

I bought my M73 for a small home server. I have prepared my site for my mom and dad. But in the next 12 months I have to study abroad and my website need to be up and running while I'm away too. So I decide to choose M73 for it's reliability, low power consumption and supporting RAID. M73 Tower have a lot more space for upgrades. The Chasis where properly design, it was easy to access for HDD and PCI-e. I have already install 2nd HDD and PCI-e Wireless card. Only problem I found is Lenovo installed the SATA Power cable in the wrong sequence and it makes me unable to connect power cable to 2nd HDD. I have to cut off the cable binder and reconnect all the cable by myself. It's a bit annoying. Supporting ThinkVantage System Update is a huge plus, it is much more easier to setup the system.

The M73: a fine desktop with one caveat

By martyh from Undisclosed on 06/20/2014

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased the M73 to replace my expired Windows XP box. I built the tower from the options presented on the website. I selected the Core i7-4770S because it has a lower energy-usage rating. I also selected the Hybrid drive, which turned out to be very sweet: the system boots at around one minute. The box is a bit noisier than my old XP box: I think this is due to the vents on the front as well as the left side of the box, both of which face me when I'm seated at my desk. Other than this, I have no complaints and am thoroughly satisfied with the M73, with one caveat: I gave up additional USB ports for the Wireless Combo N6235_FH, which turned out to be completely useless. Even in the room next to my modem I picked up no wireless signal. My intent was to be completely wireless, and instead I've had to run a hardline from that room into my office to connect to the M73. So, bottom line, if you want wireless, buy your own card.
