Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Wanted to replace my computer's cdrom with internal HD, so this external dvd burner was perfect replacement. USB cable only takes up one USB port. Comes with CyberLink Media Suite 8.0. Good buy for the sale price of $22 + tax shipped. Ordered on Saturday, received Tues morning.

Good value for the discounted price

Pros:

Storage, Weight

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Exactly what you'd expect: a slimline "laptop" DVD drive in an external USB-attached, USB-powered case. As such it's not the most abuse-resistant drive, but it's simple, effective, convenient and lightweight. Similar drive over the counter at Staples was $65 last time I looked, so the current discount price of $32ish is a bargain. I wanted a drive on my desk when my PC is out of reach; this will do the job nicely. One cute feature that I wasn't aware of: The drive can be started in a mode that translates the DVD filesystem into a FAT32 filesystem, making it usable with devices that were designed only for flash drives. I don't expect to need that, but it's a nice idea
