I purchased this product to use with a computer running XP, sp2. After installing the software I did not get a picture using the packaged software and called Lorex customer support for help. After a 25 minute hold and over an hour working with a support rep., uninstalling and reinstalling the software several times, there was still no picture using the Lorex software. The Lorex rep. stated that he would have someone else call me back and fix the problem. Two days later I received a call from a tech support person who went through the same steps and told me that must be a problem with the camera, put me on hold for five or ten minutes, then came back and had me try and see if the camera worked using a windows program called AMCAP and wa-la, it worked. But not using the Lorex software. The tech stated that it would work better on a Vista machine. I installed the software onto a new computer running Vista, downloaded all of the new software/drivers "for Vista" and had the same exact problem, no picture using the Lorex software, but got a picture using Windows AMCAP. Once again I waited a couple of days until I received a phone call from the top tech from Lorex who told me up front that it probably wouldn't work but "let's give it a try". An hour and a half later, same situation. No picture using the packaged software and every driver downloaded from Lorex's website. The attitude I got from Lorex support people seemed to be "just take it back". Like they don't really care that I spent several days and several hours on the phone with them trying to get their camera to work with their software. No attempts to make me, the customer, happy. Just "oh well".
