Not what I expected/not worth the money

By Nine cameras owner. from Memphis, TN on 10/20/2008

Cons:

Low Quality, Unreliable

Describe Yourself:

Avid Do-it-yourselfer

Pros:

Easy To Set Up

Best Uses:

Deterrent, Safety, Recording, Early Warning

Primary use:

Personal

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Daytime display is a dull yellow. Can not use microwave--no display at all. You need extension cords and an outdoor outlet(s) to plug in cameras. Then, the receiver has to be in a certain proximity to each camera. Recording on a VCR causes distortion of display. I have one at the front door and one on the side of the house with the receiver in the midst. Faces can't be recognized. Camera has to be a certain distance from a person. Need a better antenna. I would not purchase again. Good features: compacted (great); easy to use/setup(great. I would recommend if the vision was clearer.

Two cameras for the price of one!

Pros:

Reliable, Easy Installation, Simple Interface, Easily Understood Instructions

Best Uses:

Homes, Apartments, Valuables, Outdoors, Office

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We use it to check for visitors, as we have no windows that face the driveway. Night vision mode gives a wonderful quality picture; day vision is great too, but the colors aren't vivid. I'd have preferred b/w cameras, but color is the only choice. The only problem we've noticed is occasional interference, which causes the pictures to flip. The receiver is very nice, as it is programmable three ways - looking at one camera's picture or the other, or switching between cameras once every five seconds. The cameras are too big to be perfect for under cover use, but you could hide them. Overall, an excellent system for basic applications, even outdoor.
