"Just moved to TN from ...

By Bob D Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 04/21/2006

Just moved to TN from SoCal. Radio was delivered [...] during the tornado which touched down 1/3 mile from me. The radio is easy to use and works well, but I'll trade tornados for earthquakes and fires anytime.

"I purchased 2 Midland ...

By Linda E Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 03/04/2006

I purchased 2 Midland WR-300 weather radios for Christmas presents. Before giving them away I took one out of the box and checked it out. I live in an underground house and was wondering if I would be able to get reception in the bedroom, which is where I would want to keep a weather radio for myself. The station came though nice and clear. I did program both radios for the recipients and it was a breeze. I am so impressed I am ordering one for myself.

A must have product. We had 60 mph winds that knocked out the power, we did not have the alert set but we still were able to recieve current advisories that were broadcasted. I highly reccommend this product.

"I on the other hand, ...

By Mr. Weather Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 10/20/2005

I on the other hand, have purchased two of these units. They both have worked flawlessly. The manual could use a little tuning but the device is quite good. I can pick up 4 WX stations and some of them are a good distance away. Being able to selectively control which alerts I want to let through is nice. The unit has only gone to alert mode twice and it did just what it was supposed to do. It does have one weird "feature". If the radio is "off" - meaning in standby, you can still hear a faint version of the WX broadcast coming from the speaker. I have really good hearing so your mileage may vary but you probably don't want to sleep right next to this radio.

"I am now on my second ...

By Doug Miller Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 02/02/2005

I am now on my second unit. The first did not receive NOAA reports. The am/fm worked fine. Returned original unit to company. They sent another, but this one does not work at ALL. No am/fm, no NOAA. At this point I would like to get a refund. Perhaps others have better luck than I. I purchased a hand held Scientific Oregon weather and it work fine in the place the Midland did not. Hope this helps.
