When you need versatility in a harmonica mic, the Vhm-7 Bushman Torpedo is a decent, inexpensive choice. No, it doesn't have that fat sound of a crystal mic, but it's much more reliable. Compared to harp mics like Shakers, the Vhm-7 is quite large in size, but I prefer its substantial feel. My Hohner Blues Blaster has great sound when it's not being serviced or replaced by Hohner. The Vhm-7 has been service free, always ready to use. For vocals, it's as good as most on-stage vocal mics, but you have to keep in mind that like a ribbon mic, there is substantial bass boost when you're up close and personal. Also, keep in mind that this mic is a low impedance mic, rated at 200 ohms. It's great for your mixer, but you're not going to be able to plug into most guitar amps without a low impedance to high impedance transformer, like the Audio Technica CP8201.
