The only accurate and reliable BP Monitor

By Horst from Jamul on 04/09/2015

Pros:

Reliable, Accurate, Easy To Use

Cons:

Stationary, Expensive

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have an erratic heart rate (recurring bigeminis) and even the BP monitors used in the hospital quite often failed to work at all. At home I went through at least 5 relative expensive upper arm BP monitors and they all failed quite often, even with repeated tries and on both arms to get a result. If they got a result it usually couldn't be repeated. The cheap wrist BP monitors without a hose were my only solution until I found this one. It never failed to produce reproducible results, 2nd or 3rd reading sometimes lower than the first one but that was to be expected.

I use this machine twice a day. I find it quick and easy to use. Just slide your arm in and press the button and in about 30 seconds your done. Press another button to save your readings. Display is easy to read and folds back into the unit. I would highly recommend this unit. The cuff does inflate pretty hard, but it doesn't hurt or leave a mark. I would purchase it again.

I was recently diagnosed with hypertension and went to the doctor to get tested. One of the things he suggested was to start a journal of my blood pressure by monitoring at home. I had seen this Panasonic in several catalogs and always a $high price tag. But your health is priceless, so searched on the internet and found many retailers did not have the unit in stock at the time. I purchased it and started my journal on 8/1/07 and have taken my pressure first thing in the morning. The EW3152A is simple to use. In fact, my 11 year old now takes his daily, as does my spouse, so we are all using it and doing a journal. The systolic and diastolic reading are large LED numbers, and the corresponding lights next to each tell you if you are ok (green) borderline (yellow) or caution (red). Keeping the journal is easy, as it stores 90 reading for 2 different people, so two users can keep a log. I have not used it under battery power yet, but plan to take to my doctor's office and calibrate it between their mercury column manometer and the EW-3152A to check for accuracy. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit, and would recommend it to anyone who has a concern about "the silent killer". You have no warning with high blood pressure until it is too late. Take care and good health!

Best of the home monitors

By Allen Verified Purchaser from Texas on 05/03/2007

Cons:

Expensive, Bulky Design

Pros:

Gives A Quick Reading, Accurate, Easy To Use

Best Uses:

Hypertension, Home Use

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Having researched many home blood pressure monitors and tested a number of them, this Panasonic is the clear winner for accuracy, and despite the relatively high price tag, what's the point of checking blood pressure if the readings aren't dependable and can't be trusted? A scaled down version of machines commonly found in drugstores, this is the only home monitor I've seen of this design, and I don't understand why there aren't others.
