Best Vacuum I ever had!

By Blondie from Undisclosed on 10/14/2011

Pros:

Durable, Easy To Use, Convenient, Exceeded Expectations, Compact, Inexpensive, Cute As A Button

Cons:

On Back Order

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This vacuum cleaner is the best one I've ever had! I can't believe the suction. It's so small. It's really light weight. I have wood floors, tile, and carpet. It's great for any floor. It has a light suction for rugs. It doesn't pick the rugs up, but it sucks the dirt. (It's magic!) There's two heights. (For high and low pile carpet.) Their is also two levels of suction. My mother-in-law stayed with me for a while, now she wants one for her home because her back hurts from hers. The only bad part about it is I have to wait 2 or 3 weeks to get one because they're on back order!

An amazing machine

By Louie Hu from Newton, CT on 03/12/2011

Pros:

Light, Great For Dusting But Need Better Brush, Quiet, Inexpensive, Compact, Powerful, Great On Hard Floors, Durable, Easy To Use, Convenient

Cons:

Bigger Dust Brush Needed, Hose Could Be Longer, No Foot Button Onoff Switch, Not Recommended For Rugs

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased the Panasonic MC-CG381 primarily to do dusting and hard floors as I already have several other vacuums for the rugs etc. Ok I know it sounds a bit excessive, but these uprights that try to do all things are usually not good at everything including this vacuum. I wanted a machine that was quiet, light, easy to manuver, and had good variable suction and was inexpensive and easy to use. This machine meets most of that. It is very quiet on the low setting and quieter than most on high. But what is really amazing is that it has incredible suction and air flow at both of these settings. It is nice to look at has a retractable cord is small and light and can roll around, sit on it's end or be easily picked up by the hose or its handle. But just to be able to vacuum without the fatigue associated with the loud noises of most vacuums at a very low price was a blessing for me. I found myself looking to find more dust just to have the joy of using this great vacuum. It also works great on hard floors easily picking up dirt with its great suction. Ok so now where are the short comings. This can be used for rugs in a pinch but I prefer to use my upright which does a better job and is easier to use. It is fatiguing to use on a rug and would only recommend it for throw rugs on a hard floor. I would have preferred a foot activated button for the onoff switch as you have to bend down each time to use it. The dealer I purchased this from included a larger dusting brush as the one that comes with it is narrow which is useful at times but not for general use. The hose could also be a little longer, but it is a standard size and you could easily attach an extension which I did when I was doing a lot of dusting. Well I hope this helps those who are looking for such a machine. To say I am pleased is an understatement. Thank you Panasonic for a great product.

toy-like

By art from boston, MA on 02/26/2011

Pros:

Inexpensive, Compact

Cons:

Did Not Meet Expectations, Difficult To Use

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Purchased to replace a 30 year old Panasonic. This one has a tiny bag. If you are taller than 5 feet, you'll have to stoop over to use it, the wand is so short. Brush or telescoping wand sections come apart in normal use. Short power cord turned out to be an issue. The crevice tool is too small to use on anything bigger than a mouse nest. OK if you have a really small place and you are not too tall.

Dissapointed

By Davilla69 from Corpus Christi, TX on 11/01/2010

Pros:

Compact, Inexpensive, Easy To Use

Cons:

Difficult To Find Bags, Did Not Meet Expectations

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bought to replace my old Panasonic which lasted nearly 20 years. However this is not of the same quality. On the plus side: It's Lightweight and easy to use. On the Negative side: It's not as good as an upright or high-end model on floors and carpet. It has no decent attachments. Bags are difficult to find locally. And this one seems to overheat and shut off with minimal use.
