I have used Pyle stuff for a couple of years. They are fine if you realize that this stuff is cheap, and you tend to get what you pay for..
That being said, I bought a similar unit last year and it is fairly well made. You need to take Pyle's wattage ratings with a grain of salt, but it is loud and has good tone quality for an 8" speaker. The 230 model i got last year was very impressive for the cost. We used it to street play (2 instruments + 1 vocal) it carried the Guitar well but sacrifices a bit on the low end. The Microphone was surprisingly good. Its not a Sure, but I sounded ok through the vocals. The 230 lacked XLR jacks and external speaker or pre-amp'd outputs..It did have an input for external audio.
This model(3600) adds 2 XLR/TRS jacks for more microphones/instruments, 2 RCA inputs for MP3 player , 2 RCA outs for outputting to another source, a 2 way internal speaker, and an external speaker connection (Bannana jacks).
about that -
Someone in China didn't bother to measure the space between the bananna plugs to see if they would sport a standard bananna cable. This was fixed by replacing the rear jack with a Radio shack speaker connector (this voids your warranty). I noticed the internal wiring on the 3600 was much smaller in gauge than the 230, even though it supposedly has more power. The addidtion of a larger speaker increases the dynamic range. Watch the impedence though, I believe you can hook 2 - 8 ohm speakers or 1 - 4 ohm. The unit is stand mountable which is a nice touch..
Another plus- the wireless microphones on both units are on different frequencies!
I rent portable PA systems, and these are great for outdoor speaking events..They are also cool for jamming where there is no power (street playing).. Expect to get 3-4 hours from the battery at high volume levels..
Things I really dont like:
The design could use some help..
They don't recess the knobs - one good hit and its over. I will be installing stand-offs..
The external antenna is flimsy and the BNC connector is not recessed either..
